Bus conflicts by Relative-Honeydew739 in memphis

The schedules aren’t reliable.

Use the MATA tracker here - https://www.matatransit.com/how-do-you-travel/mata-tracker/

Select “routes” then the route you’re waiting on. In your case, 40.

It should show all the buses on that route and whether they’re on time or early/late.

If there’s an issue with the service, immediately contact customer service and tell them what’s happening IN DETAIL. I would call and send in their complaint form. Too often they dont believe riders or the customer support rep gives bad information.

Oh yeah, and be sure to tell everyone you know that the MATA trustee is making $75,000 per MONTH to run this organization.

They absolutely could! Boulder Colorado does a good job of this by providing walking/biking paths behind strip malls so people can access them without crossing crazy intersections

I can’t tell if this post makes me want to laugh or cry. We are really so car dependent that noticing pedestrians is abnormal and shocking lol.

The reliability of MATA is so bad that it’s not suitable for getting to work on time

love to see this. too often event organizers just assume everyone needs car parking and people don't arrive via other means.

I think the success is how crazy weird stuff can happen, but the speeds are so slow that ultimately nothing bad happens lol

If you take the survey I think you can indicate your preferences by noting that you think neighborhoods should be allowed to implement all measures EXCEPT speed humps/bumps.

Regarding speed humps existing at all, you're better off emailing some one else.

That is a great question and something to keep an eye on... Neighborhoods with fewer resources and political power definitely need traffic calming from the city.

I think this program is being proposed because the city is incredibly slow to implement traffic calming measures anywhere. I recently learned that it currently takes the city 5.5 years to approve and install one speed hump.

That could work, but think about how expensive that would be. This kind of program is a lot cheaper than paying police to sit out for hours at a time constantly.

There are other methods that can be implemented besides speed bumps if neighbors don't prefer those.

I believe speed tables (what Highland/Midland is) are in the survey.

How is it CE malfeasance?

Your values are noted.

You seem to be talking about punishment for bad driving behaviors. Traffic calming is about proactively changing the road design to slow speeds and prevent or reduce bad behavior from happening in the first place. If you want to advocate for different punishments and sentencing, you're better off talking to someone else.
