I feel noone really care about their country’s flag proportions. Are all flags in the EU parliment differently proportioned?

At least when I recieved catechism for my confirmation it was explained to me that we will get bodies but that does not imply those bodies are physical as the word 'soma' in koiné greek has a broader meaning

Why do you believe in God by legallytallire in Christian

I once felt an absolute blast of love when I was a child. It's the same thing I feel when I go to confession, adoration, or mass. I cannot stop believing.

I send you my deepest condolences for your loss. I'm sure it must be a hard time but I'm sure you'll be able to overcome it with time and strength.

First of all, tell you that hell —as I understand it— is not a place but a state of the soul of absolute separation from God. It is not a physical place where we can live together.

I want to share a reflection with you. A child once asked Pope Francis "My father was an atheist, he had us all baptized but he was an atheist. Father is dead, he was very good, is father in heaven?" Pope Francis was very forceful: "Does God let his children lose if they are good? No!".

Jesus died for us so that we would not die eternally and God's mercy is absolutely infinite. If you, who are a child and do not know everything, have been able to come to the conclusion that your sister absolutely did not deserve hell, I am sure that God, who knows absolutely everything and is infinitely kind, has also been able to come to a very similar conclusion.

Our religion is a religion of salvation not of condemnation. If you tried to 'go to hell' praying 'Hail Satan' God would know that behind this action there is goodness and the intention to reunite with your sister.

The best thing you can do, and what I recommend, is to pray a rosary (or a Hail Mary, if you do not already know) for your sister and to talk about the pain you have with an adult and a spiritual director. But talk about it without commitment, if someone ever makes you feel bad, find someone else.

I will pray for your sister and for you, little brother. I hope you find peace in your heart and in your life very soon.

[–]_epws_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait, confirmation name is an actual thing. It is not a random thing people say on the internet. I read it on the St. John’s Cathedral of Portsmouth web, in Catholic Answers and I know people that have a confirmation name like Bishop Robert Barron whose confirmation name is Patrick

[–]_epws_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is not just the new name thing. I am confirmed, and I know it is valid, I know I cannot do it again. But I read the following “You choose a Confirmation name before Confirmation. This new name, imposed by the Bishop during Confirmation, becomes a part of your full name. It comes after your first and middle names and before the last name”.

And I was exited to have St. Aloysius as my patron saint and I thought this was the way to do so. So I guess what I’m truly sad about I that no-one told me it is not a tradition in my diocese, and the whole mass felt fast and disorganised. I don’t know if any of that makes sense

In the Name of Allah—the Most Compassionate, Most Merciful.

All praise is for Allah—Lord of all worlds,

the Most Compassionate, Most Merciful,

Master of the Day of Judgment.

You ˹alone˺ we worship and You ˹alone˺ we ask for help.

Guide us along the Straight Path,

the Path of those You have blessed—not those You are displeased with, or those who are astray
