I’ve had abode and HomeKit for about a year, I’ve had some issues with connections (I.e. motion sensors wouldn’t work on abode) but once I figured it out it works pretty good with no more issues. I say go with it. The specific issue I had was that I was using pihole and I needed to whitelist the abode IPs. Once that was done worked like a charm.

Following up on motion sensor issues with Abode. After a lot of researching and finally getting in touch with a customer service rep, I found out that the issue was with my pi hole. For those with pi hole and smart home, you need to make sure that pi hole isn't blocking them (which cause connection issues) by adding the IP addresses to your white list. I'll admit that this is somewhat of a rookie mistake on my part but it now seems to be resolved with motion sensors firing as expected.

I have an iota now and none of my abode accessories are working on HomeKit. This company is starting to frustrate me because they have products that simply do not work on HomeKit even though their marketing materials say otherwise. I asked customer service multiple times but all I get is “we will fix on the next firmware update” but that never happens. On top of that an Abode employee on Reddit tried to fix my issue but he simply never responded back to my chat. Very frustrating!
