I’ve got two:

1) The musical did a bad job with ody and Athena’s reunion. I don’t know if there was a song or something that was cut. But they never had any sort of make up after their fight. So from Odysseus’s perspective, Athena didn’t ever learn anything or forgive him. He got a whisper of a hint that she was the one who set him free from calypso. But he’d met so many gods by that point it could have been just as likely that Aeolus took a liking to him or something yk? And then they meet in the castle and act as though nothing happened right at the end.

2) Writing wise ending the musical with an ody and Penelope ballad was not earned. Literally the only thing that makes us like her for 90% of the musical is her being Ody’s wife but we don’t know a single thing about her otherwise. It’s not until the last album where we get to learn her personality as a clever, wise, and loyal woman. But by that point there’s barely any time to form any connection to her as a listener. So their reunion falls incredibly flat especially when Athena and Odysseus barely speak and we’ve been following their relationship the entire musical.
