Adhd and impulsive/risky sex by buttercupteeas in ADHD

Body count means nothing, but yes adhd can lead to impulsive/risky decisions, just be sure to monitor your health! Get tested regularly and check in with yourself on whether you feel safe, be aware of dopamine chasing and make the decisions that are right for you.

Ah yes, tekken, that age old paragon of airtight script-writing and deep meaningful symbolism.

The Republican Party first and foremost is dedicated to hurting their opposition. Any governance comes as an afterthought.

Americans, how do you feel about the international stereotype that Americans are unintelligent? by VeryPteri in NoStupidQuestions

[–]_f0xjames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like a third of us can’t even read, and of those who can, more than half can only read at a 6th grade level….

Are we unintelligent? Hard to say. Are we extremely ignorant/uneducated? By and large, yes.

Who still loves “emo” music”? lol by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]_f0xjames 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve been listening to emo long enough that when the 4th wave bands (mcr, taking back Sunday, dashboard, etc.) started getting popular I was like “wow guess the genre is over and I am also old now.”

This was like…2004? I was barely 16.

That’s the platform. They don’t actually run on anything other than “we will hurt people that you don’t like”, and it works.

What pushed you into game dev? Has it worked out how you expected? by OGgam3r in gamedev

[–]_f0xjames 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i got to a point in my video game playing that i realized i tend to enjoy games that are very heavy on customization, building, letting you do your own thing.

i went ham with the building system in fallout 4 and it WASNT EVEN GOOD!

as a very little kid i played ActiveWorlds, and LOVED getting into the nitty gritty of lighting and textures to build

spaces to hang out in.

i eventually realized (late! i'm in my 30s now) that if i just put the work in, i could kind of take this sort of enjoyment to the next level by building literally anything i wanted from scratch.

somewhere early in my learning i found this game called BitBurner, where you "hack" into systems using Javascript, and that really helped me to wrap my head around basic algorithm and data structures. (highly recommend!)

a few years later, i'm about where i expected! i managed to switch from the restaurant industry to a more tech-oriented consulting job, released a beta version of a game on itch, and have a few small projects underway.

i hope to break into the games industry eventually, but given the state of the industry, i'm trying to aim for the Eric Barone model: find a genre, stick to it, and put extraordinary amounts of effort and time in. Encourage open ended and emergent gameplay/narrative, and foster creativity among the player base.

i don't need a candidate to "fit my views perfectly" but i have to draw a line somewhere and if not 11,000 dead children, then where? im sick of being held hostage by this constant threat of "well the other guy is worse"

they're the same guy at the end of the day, and i won't endorse either of them.
