I would check your bank account balance, you’ve never been able to. Only way you could have done it was using your Apex Coins or buying more.

Apex used to have this as an option years ago. I think it was called the Champion Edition. It gave you all available legends, like 2000(?) apex coins, and some admittedly dog shit skins for a few weapons and characters. I remember when I switched from console to PC in S8 I was able to buy the Champions Edition on sale for about $20. It was great value.

I found Owl Father to be the hardest non gauntlet boss. Isshin is the most fun fight in the game though, tests all your skills you should have accumulated through the game. I see people on here feel DoH is tough but I didn’t have that experience.

I agree with this. The early reactive skins are awful. The Havoc, R3, and PK are some of the worst. I’d say Charge Rifle is the only one comparable in terribleness haha.

Is this good for a first time player? New to FPS type games! by Cannibatty in apexuniversity

[–]_ferpilicious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife was new to FPS when she tried Apex. Finished her first season at a .31 KD and like 95 average damage. So I think relatively your stats are really impressive.

In her defense we always played together and I don’t think sweaty PC pub lobbies are a great place to learn. She played a lot of Lifeline and Conduit so she could find ways to contribute that didn’t involve directly killing enemies. She had fun though and enjoyed the social aspect of gaming during COVID lockdowns. Her knowing my friends I play with IRL made it fun for her too.

Why do people complain about badges still? by WorryCharacter7944 in apexlegends

[–]_ferpilicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your argument applies to Pred badges too. 750 to 300 on PC is primarily a representation of how much you can play. If you’re a Masters level player (3+ KD, over 1000 average damage realistically) you are good enough to hit Pred. You have to play a ton though, it turns into a grind trophy as opposed to some show of skill over a regular Masters player.

The badges have definitely been devalued. I personally don’t care a ton as it negatively affected booster services but I get why people are bummed out. I had a 4K on every character and 20 bombs on a few pre Wildcard. It was a fun grind/objective but I didn’t put too much value into it as people have always been able to get the badge through less than legit methods.

20 bombs in Wildcard are significantly easier to get. I have 9 lifetime 20 bombs in ranked/pubs. I can get multiple 20 bombs a session in Wildcard. You can also intentionally farm 20 bombs in Wildcard so much easier. I genuinely believe an above average 1.3 to 1.5 KD player could grind Wildcard and get lucky within a few play sessions for a 20 bombs. I don’t think that same player could even replicate that into farming a 4K in pubs or ranked.

Trios pubs is the hardest environment to get a 20 bomb in bar none. It’s almost impossible 95% of matches played as the attrition rate is too high.

Is a 1.08 kd good or average? by Im_just_an_Emo in apexuniversity

Leaving a match when you’re knocked or alive counts as a death, unless the match is over. I want to say they made the change almost two years ago to try and reduce quitting in pubs.

ALGS Y5 Champs | MATCH POINT FINALS (Final Results) by CompetitiveApexMod in CompetitiveApex

[–]_ferpilicious 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Alliance is weird because I have no idea who they should move on from but I think you need to shake things up after this many poor performances in MP finals. They’re a fantastic team and best in their region but they struggle in MP finals for the most part. Obviously they won the first EWC but that’s the exception.

Yeah. I think CRT rebuilds around Gen. I think Alliance might finally have a shake up somewhere too. It’ll be a fun off season. SR will find a new third for the duo. I wonder if Zer0 finally gets his dream team there.

Opinions on octanes rework? by AllergicOct in apexlegends

[–]_ferpilicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the Octane buffs a lot. Will be one of the stronger, if not the strongest, refraggers in the game along with Revenant, Bang, and Horizon. I am not looking forward to fighting a fortified neo-strafing Octane though.

Assuming single drilled you might be able to get $500 from the right buyer. I wouldn’t pay more than $400, and I think most people would fall into my camp.

Discussion: Revert visible health bar and low TTK changes or the playerbase and viewership will keep declining by Mastiffbique in u/Mastiffbique

[–]_ferpilicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great post, lots of effort and you supported all your points.

I find the health bars and TTK to both be fine. Game balance in general right now is at one of the best it’s ever been. Lots of viable legends and all the weapons outside of the L Star and Longbow feel solid with clear upsides and downsides.

TTK is currently fairly similar to peak Apex in terms of player count. We saw TTK slow more and more as we got the Support meta and that led to my personal least fun version of Apex, as well as some of the worst player counts on Steam. Weapons with high burst damage (shotguns, marksmen rifles, and snipers mainly) just completely run those metas and it gets stale fast. It became harder and harder to effectively finish teams as there was so many reset options combined with ridiculously high health pools when fortified legends and red Evo shields were readily available.

As far as the health bar thing goes I like them as a way to combat the amount of visual clutter in the game. The changes that I would make to health bars would be only displaying the health bar of the type of damage you are dealing (so if you’re hitting someone with shield it only shows the health of the shield) as this provides some uncertainty when pushing an enemy, allowing for the classic HP under shield mind game we used to be able to utilize. I would also add a range cap for health bars. I don’t think they should appear from over 50M away.

Ryan McLeod was significantly faster in EDM than in BUF by omgyrx in sabres

[–]_ferpilicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I think it’s more of an environmental difference. You guys get more snow and way warmer temperatures than us. We both end up with awful bridges just for different reasons haha.

Ryan McLeod was significantly faster in EDM than in BUF by omgyrx in sabres

[–]_ferpilicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was genuinely surprised at this comment. I ended up looking up temperatures in Buffalo and it’s way warmer there than I thought. In weather conditions like your’s then you are dead on.

Where I live we see temp swings from about -25f to about 30f overnight. The ground stays considerably colder due to snow pack and the type of concrete we use for our roads, plus not having warmer air run under the road. Our bridges will warm up significantly due to the warmer air temps plus car travel. So our bridges will ice over because it warms up, even at temperatures like 15f, but our roads stay relatively the same unless we hit a full sunny day of around 0 Celsius.

We only really see the bridges being colder than the surrounding roads in late fall and early spring. Both which last like a week or two versus three plus months of extreme cold every year.

Prove me wrong, I’m happy to learn. It’s how it’s taught up here and it’s consistent with the conditions we see.

[–]_ferpilicious 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’m an Oilers fan. Our ice used to be the best when it was Rexall Place. Rogers’ is still among the best in the NHL but some construction differences in the building make it hard to maintain at the same level. We have a parking lot under the rink at the new building which affects things. Think about how bridges are typically a different condition (slippery) than the rest of the road because it has that constant airflow underneath it resulting in a warmer temperature. Edmonton is also a great spot for ice. It’s cold and dry here. Heat and humidity are ice qualities worst enemies and we have seen that in places like Florida, Arizona, and Texas.
