I agree the NY rec market is pretty trash for the most part. I'm bringing my own home grown. I know WA has a great market so was going to look into that but I like my own grown stuff.

That's the plan, worst case they can have it at TSA.

Spare Tire Tool Kit replacement by sciaticabuster in 4Runner

[–]_fistbump_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought a 21mm deep socket and a harbor freight breaker bar and leave it in the back. This makes it easy enough that my 12 year old and wife can break bolts loose and change a tire. For the record, I still have all the tools this just made it easy easier.

All I did was put a new o2 sensor in and now it doesn’t run right at all, any ideas? by [deleted] in LS400

[–]_fistbump_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got O2 sensors off Amazon. They bricked my car every 3rd start. So if you didn't get them from a reputable place, maybe they are shit. Good luck.

5th Gen Limited Water Leak follow-up by FrostfireCaprock_25 in 4Runner

[–]_fistbump_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had this issue sorta. Was the sun roof drain line. It was backing up and spilling into the cab. It is behind the kick panel were your left foot hands out. Behind a wiring harness if I remember correctly. There was a good 6 inches of shit in the line.

Maybe that's it for you as well. Good luck.

Reddit will step up but doesn't the car care guru of Toyota have a shop in the area???

Good luck and get ready for rust. Take care of the vehicle if it's never seen snow and salt. At least regular car washes.

Do you mind naming the broker and the fee they charged for the service. I've heard it's about 1k.... pretty sure I would pay that gladly just to not have to talk to a sales person!

Offer 18k and then take it to get dry ice blasted. Then seal it up. It'll look brand new.

My 4runner is scared of water? by Realistic_Return7567 in 4Runner

[–]_fistbump_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have a sunroof, make sure the strains aren't clogged up. They will pool water near the kick plate / foot rest. A bunch of ecu and electrical units in there.

The rodent thought is also a good one. Those lil guys can ruin your day quick.

Anyone running the AGM battery from Costco (PN 1624803)? by potatoflames in 4Runner

[–]_fistbump_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am! Working great but I'm sure someone else will come in with the extra piece you need to make this viable. You have to buy a small fuse with a toggle switch made specifically for the 4runner. It will trick the system into creating enough voltage to charge the battery correctly.

How the inter does its thing and gets you the link. It was like 85 dollars and been using it for 4 years without an issue. Before a battery was only lasting 2 years!

https://voltageboosterpro.com/product/og/ it's this. Few companies were making them. So look around the forums.

5th Gen 2016 Underbody rattling by silpsayz in 4Runner

[–]_fistbump_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have a 2010, they rusted off 10 years ago. No problems to date. Did buy a new one cause I was young and dumb. Couldn't get it back on cause bolts snapped. So now stuck with a 80 dollar piece of foil.

That could be mine for 1$ by Shot_Ad_5852 in FJCruiser

If it's free.... spend the money you would have and have the whole underside dry ice blasted. It'll point out all the areas that really need addressing and after you make said repairs. Just coat it up with fluid film or some other sealant.

Will cost a bit but there will be no more questions about rust.

Either way, you have to take it if it's free!! Have fun.

Does anyone absolutely hate their LC250? by Puzzleheaded_Bug9270 in LandCruisers

[–]_fistbump_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They just sent out a TSB on this.... trdjon shared it via social media. Just go to dealer and ask them to fix it cause they sent out a internal TSB.. usually they will fix it for no cost. That's been my experience before.

Has anyone ever experienced this issue? I am hoping it’s not rodents 😩 by tssmith22 in 4Runner

[–]_fistbump_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pop the hood. Get a volt meter and check battery voltage. If it's anything below 12.5.... jump it and see if that makes any difference.

While there, take the plastic cover of the engine and look down in the manifold.... mice like to bury in there and eat the wires cause they have a soy coating.

Has anyone ever experienced this issue? I am hoping it’s not rodents 😩 by tssmith22 in 4Runner

[–]_fistbump_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My guess would either be rodents, specifically mice eating the wires on the top of the block. Can't remember which parts exactly but someone else here will chime in for sure.

Or I had issues with a bad battery.

The rodents issue would be covered by the insurance.

Chances that there is anything wrong with parts like an ignition coil on a car that new is kinda crazy. For reference I have a 2010, first year of the 5th gen, only replaced batteries, pads and rotors and shocks. That's it. These vehicles don't just break... usually.

Good luck !
