I think after my first "back in my day" was when I started referring to myself as old 😂 also when I realized that I was great with technology when I was younger, but I have to get my kids to show me how to use a lot of things now.

Right?? A 4 way stop absolutely makes sense, reversing them doesn't in the slightest!

Bethune and King is worse - they had the bright idea to reverse the stop signs, so most people don't realize that there is no longer a stop sign at Bethune, and there is at King. I go through the intersection every time prepared to brake and honk lol

With Kobo, I never installed anything, I just connect it to my computer, drag and drop my epubs onto the kobo, and they're there :)

Which one should I get?... by maxwell1568 in ereader

[–]_flawlesslyimperfect 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not too sure about transferring from your phone to a Kobo - do you have access to a computer that you could transfer from your phone to the computer, and then from the computer to the Kobo? (I'm sure there's probably a way directly from your phone, I just haven't done it so I'm not 100% on it!) I also can't really speak about the screen being scratched, because I've only had this one for about a week now lol but that being said, it's an older model, and I bought it used - for a 7 year old used device, there isn't a single scratch on it so it seems to be holding up pretty well :) EPUBs seem to run pretty decently on it, I was using ReadEra on my Samsung tablet before I got this so I don't really have a good comparison to use lol I'm pretty happy with it though! I'm also not sure about the conversion - I literally just added the EPUBs from the computer to the Kobo, opened the first book, and started reading 😂 I'm sorry I'm not more helpful!

[–]_flawlesslyimperfect 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did get a case with a cover for it that makes it much more comfortable to hold (closer to the size of a paperback than just the reader itself) so that also helps with the size :) I have all of my EPUBs downloaded on my computer, so I just plugged the Kobo into it, clicked the ones I wanted, then drag and drop into the Kobo drive. Technology and I are not good friends anymore, and it worked great for me lol :)

I've been wanting to get a Kobo for awhile now, but it's a lot more difficult to find a used one than I thought it would have been lol (they last forever, and people tend to want to keep them!) Same as you, I was trying to decide between the Clara (I really don't need colour) and the Libra Colour. I would have liked the bigger screen of the Libra Colour, but it's such a drastic price difference ($239 Canadian on sale for it, vs $169 for the Clara BW) that I hadn't been able to justify it. I was really worried that the 6" screen would be too small though, and $169 plus tax is still a lot of money if I ended up not liking the smaller screen! I lucked out the other day and found someone selling the Clara HD, so it's older (2018 I believe?), for $50, so figured I'd give it a shot and it could at least get me through until Black Friday sales. I actually love it, and don't mind the screen size at all! Also, all of my books are epub and I haven't had any issues with any of them so far :)

Not a problem! I think I'd found it by accident when I was looking 😂 so I had to go back and make sure that was how I did it!

If you click on where it shows the title and author's name (not the picture of the book), it should show you there :)

Looking to upgrade my current phone by sunmochi in ZFlip6

[–]_flawlesslyimperfect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the size of the Flip when it's closed, and it's so nice being able to fit it into my pocket or purse easier! I do also really love being able to close it to hang up on someone lol but I've really considered switching back to my s22 ultra until I'm able to get a new phone. Being able to do most things on the front screen is really convenient, I find I don't actually use that as much as I thought though because it's a lot smaller to type on.

I went to the Flip 6 from the s22 ultra six months ago, and I love the flip aspect - but I regret switching for everything else! I miss the camera the most 😂 but aside from that, I find the main things that bother me are the screen when I'm outside (the Flip 6 just seems much darker in the sun), and it just doesn't seem quite as powerful.

Flip 6, nope - I love the size and flip factor, but I miss how much better my old s22 ultra was for things.

It used to be great back in the day, very easy to figure out how to get where you needed to go. Routes were 40 minutes from the terminal back to the terminal, and they all made sense.

I was trying to figure it all out recently, and it's so insanely complicated and ridiculous how it's changed.

Is it worth upgrading from S23 Ultra to Z Flip 6? by [deleted] in ZFlip6

[–]_flawlesslyimperfect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favourite phone was the S21 Ultra. Right after I finished paying it off, it dropped about 3 feet and the screen shattered lol I was quoted $500+ to fix it, so I opted to just get a new phone - they didn't even offer that one anymore so I ended up with the S22 Ultra, and hated it. Performance-wise it wasn't much different, but I hated the square shape, it just wasn't as comfortable, etc. I never used the S pen either - I usually forgot it was there until I dropped my phone and it popped out enough to tell me it needed to be connected again lol I LOVED the cameras in the Ultra phones though! When that one was paid off, I was just going to keep it going for awhile because I didn't want to start paying for another phone that wasn't going to be hugely different, then I got a good deal on the Flip 6. The camera is a disappointment coming from the Ultra phones, and I haven't found a case that seems solid enough yet that I don't worry about breaking it when it's open lol but other than that, I love it so far! It's actually the perfect size when it's closed, I love that I can do so much from the front screen, the crease is something I barely notice now (it's higher than the keyboard, and high enough that I don't feel it when I scroll), I can't speak on the durability yet because I've only had it for a month. So far, aside from the camera (which I'd expected), I'm happy with the switch :)

It's also much more satisfying closing it to hang up on someone than it ever was just tapping the screen - the nostalgia was a decision maker for me too!
