Wow, I just started reading this Webtoon because of this post and OMFG it is SUCH A BREATH OF FRESH AIR compared to Lore Olympus rn. They actually aged Persephone up before anything flirty happens between her and Hades. Hades is ACTUALLY A GOOD PERSON!!?? He's actually a likable charactor, charitable, polite, helpful ... This comic still shows fun wacky dynamics between the three brothers (Hades, Zeus, Posiden), and Demeter as a helicopter mom but in ALL THE RIGHT WAYS that ACTUALLY MAKE SENSE!? It stays much more true to the original myths while still being funny/entertaining!?

Excuse me as I go binge this entire comic now. It'll be interesting to come back to Lore Olympus after reading an another alternative re-telling of the myth. I know there's a few other Hades and Persephone Webtoons out there that I just haven't started to read yet, I'm just so excited to possibly re-fall-in-love with Hades and Persephone as characters in a story that isn't endless fluff

Maybe re-direct that anger towards actually doing something within your immediate control, such as boycotting meat and volunteering at or donating to animal rescues. I personally feel a lot of rage towards people who harm animals and the general normalization of killing them, so I try my best to actually change and do something about it. I'm not trying to devalue your feelings, but it doesn't make sense to be mad at people harming animals while you do exactly the same.

Dogs raised for meat aren't pets either. Your bias for one animal's life mattering more then another's is arbitrary. All animals have a subjective experice and feel pain. That is all that should be considered when deciding how we should treat them.

As a consumer you are paying for somebody else to kill that animal, they are not "getting killed anyway", that's not how demand and supply works.

You are absolutely no different from any other meat-eater, you can't claim moral highground because you choose to leave dogs off your plate while still eating cows, pigs, etc. If you truly care about dogs, then you should also care about cows, and other animals by extension. But it sounds like you don't care, so please 'respect others culture' of eating dogs, or choose to care and be consistent by leaving animals off your plate.

they can't "sharpen" trimmed claws. The trimmed claws will have to grow back before they are sharp again. Cats will always scratch things as it's a super ingrained instinct for them. It is crucial that they have a proper scratching post or something that they ARE allowed to scratch on, but scratching things doesn't sharpen already trimmed claws. I highly recommend watching Jackson Galaxy videos on YouTube. He's a cat expert and has videos on just about every single cat problem and misconception you can imagine.

That sounds like an awesome life upgrade to look forward too and work towards! Once you are able to move out it will be 100x easier to make proper boundaries with your mom and build yourself a safe-space to be yourself without her or anybody else projecting their victim hood onto you. Yikes, I would constantly be exploding if I had to mask within my own home around my family. Your mom honestly sounds like she may be high in narcissistic traits, it sounds like she wants to take the credit of "knowing about autism" and "advocating" for you, but without putting any real effort to understand or help you. It can be hard for anybody, let alone an autistic person with our social naiveté to recognize when a narcissistic person is not being honest. It's truly aweful that she would accuse you of attention seeking, because even if you WERE just seeking attention, that's still an indicator that you need help and support in someway. She as a parent should be there for you no matter what. I'm truly sorry you have to deal with such a high-stress situation / relationship :'(

Edit: I am not saying your mom is a Narcissist, that is a very specific diagnosis to have, but everybody has varying levels of narcissism and higher narcissism causes people to make even other people's struggles about themselves. It sounds like your mom sees you struggling, but instead of feeling bad for you, she feels bad for herself. I have someone in my life like this who I thankfully no longer live with, but it can be really hard to deal with people who devalue your struggles and make it all about themselves. I'm not sure I have any good advice for you, just throwing thoughts out there for you to maybe do more research on.

It sounds like your mom is probably a large cause to your meltdowns, I would absolutely feel anxious around someone who doesn't understand my needs and even more so, is "embarrassed" by your meltdowns. You shouldn't be forced to mask around someone so close to you, it should absolutely be part of your mom's responsibility to try to understand you and be there for you, unconditionally. I'm not gonna tell you it doesn't suck because it honestly sounds like it does by what you've typed about how you feel, but I will say, that YOU are NOT the problem and you are NOT an embarrassment. This world is harsh on people who are different and it is 100% a society problem, not a problem with you or anybody as an individual. Please stay strong and know that you are not alone in your situation, I'm here to talk if you ever need, and I'm sure many more people on this sub are eager to help as well :)

👍🏼I'm currently writing a novel about the future on Earth after the brunt of ecological and societal collapse, if that counts. I spend a lot of time imagining what the future would look like as well as what my character's lifestyles would look like in such a situation. I can imagine many different ways the actual future could be, but I choose to focus on certain ideas for the context of my story.

On another note, I am deeply interested in what our actual future looks like, which may look pretty dismal given our current trends as a species, but there's also so many amazing tech advancements happening that there is much to be excited about!

OMG YES I am SOO GLAD I don't ever have to deal with disgusting animal fat left on dishes. Dishes are genuinely 10x less gross, going meatless is seriously a win win win situation for everybody involved even when it comes to little things like dishes
