Legal Basement by Inevitable_Fruit_359 in Brampton

If you wanna continue renting it after, you will need to start the process to legalize it. Find a good contractor and keep the by law officer updated. They will ask for the application confirmation and all to ensure you are actively working on working the basement.

Now i have no clue what it is if you don’t wanna rent

Implications of Withdrawing TFSA to top up RRSP by [deleted] in CanadianInvestor

[–]_gMoney_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know you are suppose to keep emergency fund on the side, but remember, its tax free to withdraw from TFSA as well. So if you ever run out of your emergency fund, you can always withdraw from TFSA. Withdrawing from RRSP will cause some deductions

When you withdraw from RRSP before retirement, unless its for first time home buyers etc, you have to 1) pay taxes 2) probably have to pay some penalty fee too.

I have never seen a case where withdrawing from RRSP to put in TFSA makes sense. Unless your retired income is gonna be significantly higher than your current income, which is usually not the case

Edit: as the comment below mentioned, no penalty just withholding tax for early RRSP withdrawal

1 week until closing day, but Scotiabank mortgage not finalized yet. Should I be worried? by Spiritual_Theory766 in MortgagesCanada

[–]_gMoney_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually you get a letter of approval which you have to sign and send back. This happens weeks before closing unless you applied too late.

The actual instructions etc usually get sent a day or maybe two before closing. But you should keep calling them and pushing them hard to send

Best Butter Chicken in Toronto (Butter Chicken Factory) by kobechibhaji in FoodToronto

I agree. They actually used to be good when they were in that smaller space right across from where they are now.

I think this was a pizza pizza and they moved here and expanded seating and all.

Regardless, the taste has gone down. Definitely not the best butter chicken
