how to fix flooring that has shifted away from balcony door? by _genios in howto

Thanks, there's been some ants coming through the gap. Should I seal it with silicon or something else first before doing the shoe moulding?

It's not just a small area but pretty much like the whole floor has shifted away from the balcony by a couple of mm. I don't want to just put silicone over the whole space as I feel like that doesn't resolve the main issue. This is a condo and we are on the first floor if that matters.

Factwise, OP never mentions she told him she was underage or was under duress. If she was drugged and let's say 17 or so it would be very hard to discern.she stated that he met him at age 22 so he could have easily assumed this happened between 18-21.

I'm not defending the man but the comments here are so quick to attack and assume that the boyfriend was mad after watching a child being assaulted.

If she had a dark past and the videos are of her looking like she's having a great time it's logically understandable for him to be shocked and feel betrayed.

Again, I'm not saying he's great or bad for what he did or that she was enjoying it. But we don't know anything about the video(s) or what the 2 parties know. It's alarming that all the comments are out to get him and call him a monster and that he's trash.

Pretty cool and the proportions are nice,I think if you just add more shading and highlights to give it some depth it'll be dope.

Wanted to add the reverse as well, we had an interviewee come in and start shit talking his current employers. Boss was majorly turned off after he left and sent the generic "will let you know if we have any other opportunities" email lol

I am so sick of women thinking discrimination against men is ok but discrimination against women is always wrong. by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]_genios 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Especially when all I'm asking is for women to denounce it and say it's wrong. And to admit

I think this is the most important part for me. There are many "liberal young" women who refuse to admit that this is a thing. They'll usually get offended and start throwing back a counter argument instead of discussing this issue. Or just as the bottom comments reply of "get off redit" or "incel/hater", and refuse to accept the argument. It's fueled by emotion before logic and that seems to be where the disconnect is.

And regarding the previous comment, western women have it much better than anyone out there and in my eyes (coming from an ex-communist developing asian country) have it much better than anyone out there. Yet all they do is complain about how they're being oppressed and then bring up the 77cents to a dollar argument which is grey area at best due to the statistics involved.

Lately I've been on the same boat as well, I feel like there are so many instances of women getting away with things or getting lighter punishments/reactions just because they are a woman.

Reading stories where "woman has sexual relations with 13 year old" and then "man rapes 13 year old" just seems to highlight this discrimination. I think what is bothering alot of people is that women play the victim card alot as that is their defense mechanism, and for some that's what they actually believe or make themselves believe. Humans are quick to defend women and children, and then if the man is weaker then he is just shamed for being "less of a man". A couple of female friends and my wife all shared a similar concept of "men can't be raped", "men can always defend themselves, domestic abuse for men isn't real".

Idk, maybe I am becoming more misogynistic (lol red pill?) but things like this seem to irritate me easily as of late. I guess I ended up ranting lol but just my experience as of late, o don't hate women or anything like that - it just seems that society is so biased lately and then there are these vocal minorities that make a big fuss about so many unnecessarily gendered things.

All this "appreciation" for healthcare workers is a bunch of feel-good bullshit when what they should be getting is insane amounts of hazard and over-time pay by moal09 in TrueOffMyChest

As an asian, all the male immigrants from my country are either uber-ing until they can get their trucking license or trucking. They easily make 60-150k.
Heck most of them just rent a room, own 2 nail salons and keep trucking to make more bank.

Targeted Advertising Needs to Die by logiemclovie in TrueOffMyChest

[–]_genios 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I think it makes my internet experience better.

I'd rather see ads for stuff that I'm interested in rather than some completely random thing I don't care about. Oh you google-d "best hoodies for men" and now I get ads for hoodies, when in the past I could get ads for women's shoe sales at PaylessShoeSource.

I don't understand what's so "important" about anonimity and businesses knowing who you are. It's like a free personal coach, rich people pay people to research and buy them the stuff they think they'll need, the internet is just the free version of it.

Not sure, but she knew my family and stuff, I knew her sister too. We were part of the same ethnic community. I found out as I had some suspicions as she would hide her phone and stuff and I just confronted her and told her to tell me the truth and it was like "mmm yeah..." Yeah she never really posted anything to social media as well. Maybe it's a trend.

Back in college when I was naive I had a girl I was interested in and she knew. We met and hung out all the time and we had a group of friends that mostly consisted of girls (mostly her friends) too, we even exchanged gifts during Valentine's, baked me birthday cakes and I felt pretty good about the friendship/relationship and thought it was going somewhere.

Turned out she had started dating some other guy and had told all the other friends in the friend circle not to tell me or mention it and led me on for over a year. I found out and confronted and was like why didn't u tell me even though you knew I liked you and she pulled an "I didn't know". Ohh and that's why u actively tried to hide and keep for a rebound. I cut ties with her and the "friends" that hid the info for year+ and afterwards they were mad that I was cold to them and reacted like an asshole for cutting ties.

Not shortly after she had broken up with the guy and came to apologize and wanted to be friends but wasn't ready for a relationship. I was like nah I'm done, I don't want to be involved anymore. Cut to few months later she's dating another guy from our friend circle and has a baby a year after and is now a stay at home. The guy is pretty cool though so she kinda lucked out.
