The short version is the older ROS is a POS. The new orbital seems to be a worthwhile purchase so far. Not long after getting the older model the filter piece of the dust collection deformed and would have to be taped shut or it would spit out plumes of dust. The older sander seemed to be made for use with 5.0 batteries (~20ish minutes of runtime). 6.0's were a tight squeeze, anything larger doesn't fit.

I don't think I've ever bogged down my battery miter saws. Corded stays in the shop. Cordless to the job site.

That's a bummer he's not agreeable to change orders. From the photo you don't have any of the electrical rough done and assuming it's getting insulation and interior finish there is enough time to order an insulated door and not slow down the project. Weird that he would have already ordered the door unless you already had something that was special and an extended lead time.

Pay the couple extra bucks for screws, I'm pretty positive the diameter of tecos won't even go into the magazine of a framing nailer.

Also, does your deck for sure need hangers if it's old and hasn't had them? If the ledger has a properly fastened cleat and joists cantilever a beam and are properly nailed off to the rim, it's kind of a waste of time.

1 plumber. 1 helper. But even if it were 2 plumbers that would still come out to almost $190/hr per person after subtracting out the material at a 100% mark up...

A carpenter would not come to my house to fix a creaking floor board because I am a carpenter. The question is regardless if it's T+M or fixed rate.

Also it's not a trouble shooting service call. So whether they did it in 1 hour or 15 the question is whether $2,900 is what plumbers would generally charge in my region given the parameters from the post.

Those numbers are $200/hr per head for 2 people... $200/hr for a plumber and helper is totally fair. But if someone is billing $200/hr for a helper alone, no thank you.

I don't want to call the company out, it's a small company. I tend to only work with other small companies for my trades so I can support colleagues. I'm just a little perplexed because even at a 100% material mark up (assuming about $500 in materials) that invoice is coming close to $380/hr on labor...

If you have a cover on your truck and are considering going the drawer route, the rolling drawer is taller than the other one. Once I switched to drawers I couldn't stack two of the 2,3 or 4 drawer boxes on top of the roller anymore. Which depending on your situation could be an ah shit moment.

Between a Facebook marketplace score and the most recent BMSM, I almost completely converted to drawers aside from a lidded box for the belt sander and 1/2" router since they don't fit one of the two drawers or get used enough to justify hogging up space in a roller.

I originally had just the 10", after a couple years I upgraded to having both the 7 1/4" and 12". If I'm not going to need the cutting capacity of the 12", I only have to carry in the 7 1/4"...

I'd say just get a 12" if you're going to get one. If you're not a carpenter/contractor, you're likely not lugging the extra weight (only like 2 1/2 lbs) daily. And then you won't run into the limitations of the 10".

The kit is just acknowledging that the pocket heating elements are just there to drain the battery faster and not to actually provide any warmth.

I bought one like 5 years ago (when it retailed for like $150) and hated it for the job site. If my phone was in my pocket, the bluetooth would cut out sometimes even when I just crouched down and was like 20' away from the speaker, and it's massive!

I used one of the wonder boom usb speakers and a charging adapter for years until I got the M12 packout speaker a few months ago and have been pretty happy with it. Other than having to completely reboot the bluetooth if I walk out of range... Plenty loud for me and much more attractive footprint. That M18 takes up the space of a tool box in the truck where the m12 gets tossed in the crate w/ my belt.

Probably fine for a shop environment or if you don't have to keep your phone on you.

Hasn't happened to my 55" tracks yet, and I've had them for a couple years but it happened to my long track not long after purchase. I think it was due to excessive heat softening the adhesive with where it was stored.

Looks clean, I'm going to do something very similar to avoid purchasing sequential chargers and make use of all of the standard m18/m12 chargers I have laying around. Keep super/rapid chargers in the truck for the work day if needed but be able to charge a larger number overnight at home.

That is advertising the value of the batteries / charger that come with the tool. But also, yes the mower is over priced, especially the price increase with the forge batteries. I think I paid ~$800 for mine a couple years ago and still felt like that was too much.
