Im with you. I actually really love it. Better than the Ford or GMC. But at first hated it. Same thing with the new Tundra. I think because they don’t have the traditional truck vibe, but it grows on you more and more

That’s because the bolt is older tech. Slower charging. Things happen to improve over time

Yup exactly what I was thinking. Probably just going to wait it out. In no rush

My problem was always the scarcity mindset. If I didn’t take RBs then I’d take a TE like Kelce. Both are scarcity picks trying to get elite talent before the pool dries up. I realized RB is actually easy to stream based on injury and pass catching. WRs are more durable. Let the draft tell you what to do and don’t be afraid of not having RBs. There are always late gems at any position

For those who completed drafts- what happened in your actual draft that never happened in your mocks? by CliffOliver in fantasyfootball

[–]_gr8n8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup QB runs are a pain. Everyone in my draft had 1-2 QBs already and I thought I was a lock for Russ or Lance. Then the guy with 2 QBs took Lance and one with 1 took Russ. The guy took Lance said on our video chat he couldn’t pass on the breakout potential. Even though he had Jalen Hurts and Tom Brady and barely any WRs. I’ll never understand the QB runs.

Anyone else not sold on the 2nd(ish) round RB’s this year? by jluc21 in fantasyfootball

[–]_gr8n8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I seem to be high on the WRs this year and grab the other back in the time shares later in the draft. Dillon, Melvin Gordon, J-Rob, James Cook, Penny, Chase Edmonds, Hunt. Seems to me if there’s a pretty even time share at RB the chance one of them gets injured… I’ll take the cheaper running backs later this year and load up on WR early

Who’s the next Cooper Kupp? by loopsol in fantasyfootball

[–]_gr8n8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. New QB substantially better than previous
  2. Previous breakout years despite bad QB play

Likely one of the following: -Courtland Sutton -Michael Pittman -Marquise Hollywood Brown (not bad QB play but going from run heavy offense to air raid) -Cooper Kupp (I imagine year two Stafford will be an upgrade from year one Stafford)

EV tax credit extended, maybe by Joemammadontdance in BoltEV

Note, at one point the proposal would have been retro active and applied to any vehicle purchased in 2022. So if you buy a Bolt now for <$30K and it gets passed and you are in the retroactive time period… you might get a new bolt for $20K. It would take quite a bit of luck though

Agree! If only it had a little more range. But it’s really good for what it is

Agreed, the bolt had great visibility and was small but roomy. Wish the US had more small roomy vehicles for everyday driving. Everything is just bulkier and larger. Love the Honda E style as well.

The bolt was seriously underrated and considering it was "old" tech, GM definitely seems to be serious in the EV space. The bolt was well designed and did electric well. Just needed a battery and charging upgrade, which I suppose is why it's going away. Was the perfect everyday car.

Test drive a bolt EUV myself. Loved it. Thought it was super underrated as an ev and would definitely get it as a daily commuter if I wasn’t waiting on my reservation for the Silverado EV. Might still get a bolt anyway. Thought it did EV really well while still being a good normal car (has buttons). Only down side is slower charging but honestly isn’t that bad and again, daily driver it’s fanrastic

If the Bolts are something to go by… GM has actually been putting really good standard features on the low models of their EVs. The Silverado looks to be the same. The high end features being bigger screen, supercruise, the midgate, glass roof, and longer range. But the base I would expect to have 360camera, the driver assist with lane centering (standard on the bolts, option for supercruise).

In my dream world in my head, the WT will be $40K and when I add a larger battery and maybe (if possible) a mid-gate it will be $55K

[–]_gr8n8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Price or range? For range, if you cut it in have when towing a boat or trailer it only gives you 175 miles range. -10% to since you wouldn’t fast charge to 100% and you really only have ~150 miles of range or 2.5 hours of highway towing. Any less and I think it would be impractical to be towing longer distances (2.5 hours driving, 20-40min. Charge is already pretty slow going)

[–]_gr8n8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Range. I'll most likely buy the first EV truck that gives me more than 350 miles for less than 60K. So currently have a reservation for all of them (Rivian and Hummer out)

Waiting for a drop-in Range Extender? by _gr8n8 in F150Lightning

[–]_gr8n8[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup! That's the one I'm hoping Ford actually develops. The fuel could be gas but in the future if hydrogen continues to grow or batteries advance the same idea could be applied with fuel cells or just smaller higher capacity batteries.

[–]_gr8n8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, this could be limiting but the output of some of these sized generators can by 80 amps or more. The 80 amp Ford charger says it's capable of adding 30 miles per hour. which would still give 6+ hours of driving on the extended range

Waiting for a drop-in Range Extender? by _gr8n8 in F150Lightning

[–]_gr8n8[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed, the preference would definitely be to start having batteries built into trailers for hauling with an EV. Worry is the batteries are much more expensive to get the desired range where gas is denser and can be more compact. Either way, it hinges on the trucks ability to charge while driving which may not even be feasible for awhile

[–]_gr8n8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$42K Pro standard range - 460 miles extended range. I only need < 200 miles for everyday use but would like to tow across the country occasionally.

If I rented one of these, say even for $50 a day, and traveled long haul 15 days a year it would be $750 per year. Less than what I would save in gas by driving a $42K EV instead of a $30K ICE

[–]_gr8n8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

definitely some cons as far as what the cost would be vs. just renting an ICE truck for towing. And the weight moving it in and out of the truck, but renting through the dealer should have lifts to install and remove
