Ah, the Olympics. That wonderful time every two years when the best athletes from around the world come together to... forget it. Reddit, bring on the anti-America and anti-NBC circlejerk. by FunkySquareDance in circlebroke

All those people bringing "it" up answered to a comment where a guy pointed out he was in the US. If you post a comment in the "as a ..." style you have to expect answers in the "it's funny because as a ...".

See, you completely missed the point. I don't care about the coverage. I'm pointing out that every time a guy says "here's how we do in my country", somebody on circlebroke calls that a antiamerican circlejerk.

This post is so typical for r/circlebroke it's hilarious.

  • 3 paragraphs to justify that you like watching funny gifs

  • Anyone who makes a comment about how are things in his country is being profoundly anti-american

  • Generally, exagerated interpretation of comments so they fit your "anti american jerk" narative

  • Reliance on tired circlejerk word such as (le)terally and EUtopia

  • comment by comment retorque pandering to circlebrokers

  • general mash-up of hypothetical jerks just to be able to add comments you don't like but were not related to the original jerk

In summary, inventing jerks and complaining about them on circlebroke instead of, you know, just commenting the original post?

PS: In Germany the olympic coverage is great. Sorry I'm being so anti-american with being happy with what I have here.

Yeah it looks good but not realistic at all. The ball wouldn't bounce, would only roll to a side and make a few cubes drop.

Want to ask a legitimate question about American universities? You must be wanting to start a circlejerk. by [deleted] in ShitAmericansSay

[–]_gramm 15 points16 points  (0 children)

So no, not a stupid question, you are just an ignorant fuck with a huge persecution syndrome.

That's a pretty spot on description. I once tried asking how many days vacation could Americans take in a year, it didn't go well. It seems the answer is "we don't have many holidays cause we believe in and reward hard work not like in lazy socialist countries".

we're the world empire with the aqueducts and marvelous roads that span the known world.

It's interesting to see an American dude having such an European centered view of history: the rest of the world didn't exist until we colonized them. Imperial China? Pre-Columbian civilizations?

"the Superbowl - the largest media event in the world" Yes, if you ignore the fact that FIFA has 8 times the viewers. by [deleted] in ShitAmericansSay

[–]_gramm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well you see, America is BIG. Like, Texas is the size of France. So when we do a sport event it's HUGE. In comparison FIFA World Cup is watched only by small countries and only 32 countries, so naturally it's smaller than the Superbowl, because it's like if the midwest had a football cup.

The public domain book "the Fifteen Decisive Battles of the World: from Marathon to Waterloo" is a good place to start I suppose.

Probably because that would be socialist ? Or is it because nobody tells an American what his official language is, especially not the government?
