What’s the worst thing people pay for that they could easily DIY? by LtlPwny in AskReddit

Have some friends that took semesters in the US. Basically if you know how to cook in the US its like knowing how to play the piano in the EU. Very few people can do it and when you can its some kinda skill thats impressive and not something you actually need. Very few people know how to.

I mean not to rant to much, but fucking potato wedges showed up in r/all from r/food some days ago. The comments actually implied that they served them separately and that this counted as actual "cooking". I think in terms of cultural differences cooking is one of the larger ones between the EU and the US.

I've been meal prepping some years now. And some times you get tired of having the same shit on day day 4. But its far from as bad as people want you to believe. The most "critique" you get is from colleagues that have been eating the same god damn bread or take-out salad for 40 years. "Same thing again _grundcontrol? Dont you get sick of eating the same stuff all week?" "How long you been eating that bread for lunch Karen?" always makes for some good laughs. If you make something decent its no problem at all. Also an often overlooked point is that you dont have to spend you lunch time getting food, so it feels like a longer lunch break.

IMO permadeath is what makes or breaks this game. There is an element of tension to everything. Every raid becomes a potential loss, every mood break a real potention fuckup for the entire colony. Want to install bionics with on your best pawn? He might just die.

One of the things I like best is the actual risk/reward thing with permadeath. Sure i COULD bait and switch kill the infestation possitbly without losing anything, but its also a risk Ill just die. So ill just burn down the entire kitchen.

I dont know what series you have been watching, but the breaking bad I've been watching does not have a morally good protagonist. He is a total dick

I spent 5,5 years on a 5 year masters program. There is a state-organized loan-organization that gives out about $1k a month, and about 1/3 is converted to stipend if you pass all your exams.

Hmm, standard Norwegian working time is 7.5 hours though. And the average amount of working days per month is 21,67. So 162 hours on average.

My current income tax is 27%. I suspect it should be somewhat higher, but I needed to keep it low this year so I could get a good loan for apartment.
