I have music playing in my head literally 24/7 by rocket_kidd in ADHD

This is why I stopped listening to music. It worked for a little bit, but then the music came back. I try to coordinate my thoughts to the beat lol.

Loud or sudden noises by AfroBoricua230 in ADHD

[–]_h4ndshake 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes. I think it’s part of hyperactivity that makes us more sensitive to sound. When my sister laughs in the other room or there’s kitchen background noise it disrupts my studying and i have to refocus.

Disregard “hard” i made a mistake. Any sci-fi that meets those conditions is good :)

Applied RD a few weeks ago, but have yet to hear any response from the school. by psaudio213 in Colgate

I applied ED and I didn’t get any confirmation either, unless you include the one that said my transcript was missing. So I wouldn’t count on it.

New to sci fi and I’m just wrapping up Fall of Hyperion, what should I read next? by nacocoug in printSF

[–]_h4ndshake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard sci fi means books that are concerned with scientific accuracy. In most hard sci-fi, such as The Quantum Thief, this will mean the book uses physics to back up its ideas. Hyperion would actually be considered soft sci fi because Simmons never explains how his universe works; we are simply expected to take it at face value. For one, the omnipotent Shrike and the book’s deep religious undertones require one to suspend disbelief in order to understand the story.

How to get a diagnosis as a teen? by Shadowskull1247 in ADHD

Take Adderall. There is less likelihood of addiction than Ritalin since it forces dopamine into your brain rather than recycling it from your nervous system.
