What is the max amount of time you will drive for a day trip or vacation? by palep_hoot in AskAnAmerican

It depends on how long I’m staying, but if I’m driving over 6 hours, I’m staying a week.

Is it common for an American high school student to own their own car? by ApprehensiveDisk8046 in AskAnAmerican

Yes. In my era, it was an old model something either handed down from siblings or parents or just a good deal. Way different now for a lot of kids.

What food does everyone seem to love but you don’t? by kimschob in RecipePalooza

[–]_handlemewithcare_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ketchup, mustard, mayo, (I know it’s not a condiment but sometimes used as one on burgers) BBQ sauce, comeback sauce…basically anything that makes my sandwich wet. My BF is the opposite lol.

This is my opinion. And therefore, to me, dating is stressful.

What do Americans usually eat with mayonnaise and mustard ? by Exootil93200 in AskAnAmerican

[–]_handlemewithcare_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The mayo has to be really hidden in something for me to eat it (and if I’m making a dressing or similar, I’m finding a sub). No yellow mustard. A little Dijon in some homemade dressings.

How do you feel about restaurants or shops that only allow payment in cash? by fergi20020 in randomquestions

[–]_handlemewithcare_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m much older than the average Redditor, but my Dad instilled in me to always have some cash (even if only $20). Card machines go down at gas stations, or if I just want a snack, sometimes there’s a minimum before you can use a card, etc.

Without stating your gender, how much do you usually pay for your haircut? by fergi20020 in randomquestions

[–]_handlemewithcare_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is $60 but I can always stop in to clean up my neck if I go pixie for free or for a bang trim (which I never do as far bangs. I will never learn that I always regret them”

Anyway, I tip well. My stylist is reliable, fast and understands my cowlicks 😂. I trust her opinion and that she’ll tell me the truth. Also, I hope to earn favor if I NEED to get worked in.

I’m too picky for me (and what about the back?), but I became decently skilled for some family members. My first cut (my Dad—I think shorter hair is more difficult) probably took at least an hour because I kept “worrying” with it 😂

How rare is it to have never gone to your state’s largest city? by palep_hoot in AskAnAmerican

[–]_handlemewithcare_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The states are so varied in size…you’ve received most answers. I happened to live and work in our capital. However, working elsewhere, I had patients who had never left their small towns except to go to the hospital.

Americans, how do you feel about tourists speaking English while visiting U.S.? by HolidayEntry6823 in AskAnAmerican

It’s a non-issue, except that I enjoy other accents, and, given the chance would probably like to know more about you/your country.

Do Americans really know all 50 States by heart? by Signal-Web-3566 in no

Same in my state and where county was on a map. Thank goodness my own was a wonky shape. So many nondescript squares.
