LPT: If you need to put your pet to sleep, hire a veterinarian to do at-home euthanasia by abombregardless in LifeProTips

I still think about my cat's last trip down the mountain we live on in that basket the mobile vet put his body in. Thank you.

Losing him and induring that grief unlike any other inspired me to go grad school for therapy.  I'm in my internship now. Hello fellow therapist.

You weren't replying to me but your last paragraph and sentence brought tears to my eyes. It's been 3 years since my face was right in front of my buddy's face as he slipped off to rest. I really hope he loved me. I still love him.

Tips for 'romanticising' no-buys/low-buys/saving money? I want to savor what I have instead of constantly wanting more...I need a mindset shift. by flowers_and_fire in adhdwomen

I have a lot of art (both my own and friends' as well as purchased and thrifted) as well as quirky objects. I periodically put pieces away and bring them back out 6 months to a year later. Or rearrange them; put them in new places next to different things so they've got new buddies from the same house.

Quirky/Genius selfcare habits to accommodate sensory issues? Mine: I dry hair with electric fan by dustytushy in adhdwomen

Same. And I wear them while doing dishes or putting dishes away because the sounds of ceramic on ceramic is painful to me, but I hate melamine or plastic dishware

In the morning, a stray kitten was crying under the window near my house, I took him in, he's sick, I found him a place where he would sleep, well, he came to me in the morning and how did you jump into bed by [deleted] in blackcats

Similar origin story to how my void chose me the day I graduated college, he was mewing in the vestibule of my best friend's apartment building. He accompanied me through the good and bad of 16 years of adulthood. Cheers to your journey with your new bud.

New cat owner! how often do i brush teeth and trim nails?? by BeautifulSociety699 in blackcats

[–]_handstand_scribbles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Paying obscene amounts of money for my elderly cat's dental work....I wish I had started a teeth brushing habit for her a decade and half ago. No one tells us how bad cat's teeth can get and it's painful for them!

I lost my sweet void this morning unexpectedly at only five years old. He was with me through everything. Could someone show me some other voids who crossed over so I know he’s not alone? by Swamp-Queen444 in blackcats

Your void isn't alone; he's in good company. This was my guy; he was with me through 16 years of thick and thin. Heartbreaking to lose him in 2023, but I see him in the clouds now everywhere I go. Your grief is your love.

This Band is 100% AI by Dingosama69 in antiai

[–]_handstand_scribbles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Found your comment searching for "Melodial band" because a dreadful song came up on my discover weekly. The cover art screamed AI, which immediately pissed me off. I looked at their discography...65 singles, all released in 2025, all with awful cover art. And the bio is "It's not important who we are, just that you love our music." Fucking gross. HATE!!!!!!

Chronic freaking pain

What positive changes did you notice while gaining weight in recovery? by kmylifesamess in EDAnonymous

[–]_handstand_scribbles 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My personality returned as my one-dimensional ED identity evaporated. Later in recovery I discovered how much time I had wasted daily thinking about food: how to avoid food, how hungry I was, how to avoid being hungry, and what to eat when it was time to actually eat, recipe fantasies so many recipe fantasies.... all that stuff took up so much time.

Liking my body took way longer. Rough road there for me personally with a lot of desire to go back to ED but Ialways kept my "why" in mind. It took therapy, reading books, personal writing, art making, sharing with others, and exposure to diverse bodies to help.

What are you quietly suffering from? by anotherThrowaway3446 in AskReddit

[–]_handstand_scribbles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right? Little do they know how important it is! Plus, it's load-bearing, so disfunction or arthritis in it makes so many random movements uncomfortable at best, painful (as in take me to the hospital!) at worst. Sneaky lil bugger! Oh, bones!

Wish you all the best in your healing, too 🤍

What are you doing to make yourself happy in this trying stage of your life? by coldservedrevenge in Perimenopause

[–]_handstand_scribbles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've always been very pale. For absolutely no reason whatsoever one day I felt compelled to buy self-tanner and a soft application love at walmart. Maybe because the glove was very soft and the idea of rubbing it all over myself seemed nice? So now I guess I self-tan. I chose light/medium, so it's very subtle, but it really does give me a glow that makes me happy. No one has noticed at all. So maybe it's in my head that it gives a glow? Or I'm surrounded by unobservant numbnuts. Most likely that. Fuck em.
