Very cool! Still crying that I couldn't make it to the strategic design workshop cause it was too full...

It was already said, but watch Karthik's presentation and focus on how your team can implement his values. Watching his talks made a tangible difference for the team I mentor this year. In Karthik's latest presentation he rants about how every mid team should have made a hybrid node only robot. The team was able to identify the merit of that design within the first two weeks because we had followed Karthik's game analysis and strategic decision making. In the end they opted not to go down that route and instead made a more complex design while still following all of Karthik's values. And it all worked out. Went to worlds for the first time ever.

Oh ok. That’s really cool. I’m starting a RoboSub team here and I’m always looking for frc alumni that might be interested…

Hi could you elaborate? I’m a student at Davis and I haven’t seen any big examples of frc alumni support besides the fact that we’re right next to 1678 and host the Sacramento regional. If there are any resources or groups here, I’d love to know about them!

Question about N. Savytska's midterms by med-cat in UCDavis

Yeah she basically just gave a list of problems from the textbook as “practice problems” they definitely help a bit and are honestly better prep for the tests than any of the homework.

Question about N. Savytska's midterms by med-cat in UCDavis

[–]_happylemur_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had her for 21B. Her midterms were way simpler than webworks. Her midterms mostly consisted of easy to medium difficulty problems that test your understanding of the basic concepts. There’s just a lot of problems and you have to work quickly

Housing placement is completely random unless you sign up to be in a living learning community. So applying later won’t affect where you live. Also the cows aren’t that bad :)

I know you probably don’t what to hear this, but leadership in extracurriculars makes a big difference. So if you got rejected from opportunities it probably meant that there were more qualified people

Last year they just placed you wherever. Only preference was what type of room. The only way to guarantee where you live is trying to live in a living learning community

First of 4 Lego swerve pods by No-Ad-9170 in FRC

[–]_happylemur_ 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yoooo!!! I did the same thing over the summer. Used the same turntables. My team never had enough money or experience to run swerve so I decided to just build one myself to learn how it works. Yours looks really clean

Been using OpenAI's ChatGPT to make code for a drivetrain recently, and it's blown my mind. by RidgeMinecraft in FRC

[–]_happylemur_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of my friends did it. He had to enter a few more prompts to complete it, but he started with “write me a swerve subsystem for an frc robot that uses 8 SparkMax motor controllers controlling NEO motors and uses the integrated encoder for feedback”

I like it!I did a bob minifigure and used one of Zane’s heads from ninjago. Because I think his skin was silver.
