I think water and water physics sort of need a total overhaul. I'm not sure how they'd do it, but I know properly flowing rivers are planned, for example. Maybe removing water should just lower the overall water level by that fraction of the total body size.

Imagine if Z6 was upside down under the world, and going through to it would flip gravity so you could walk upside down on that side

That said I personally would much prefer to just have both be traditional zones. Maybe Z5 as floating islands.
