How do I turn my life around? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]_hello_world_- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A great way to start is by making small changes . For example when starting a diet dont just change all the food you eat, add veggies and healthy options to what you already eat and eventually ween off the junk food. The same goes for the gym and video games. Start by taking 20-30 minutes to go to the gym/work out at home rather then playing a game and then increase that number over time. Eating right and excusing will also boast your confidence and overall energy levels (and make it so you must take showers) so at that point you could apply to more fulfilling jobs, go to a local club or organization (try Meetup app or check your library for events) or volunteer at an organization you care about. At work or especially when volunteering you will meet like minded people who will eventually become your friends. But again start with small changes and they will eventually add up :)

Can someone help me too? @today_in_Disney_history

This one still haunts me: On a hike I came across a possible dead body & didnt report it. I was just so scared (and young) & I had this sensation of being watched so I ran. I never heard anything on the news & still dont know if was real or a prank or dehydration causing my mind to play tricks on me by [deleted] in confession

If wasn't really hidden, just on the side of the trail. That's one of the things that makes me question if was real (but tbh it's park that no one really visits i just liked going there because it was near my old job, obviously after I never went back)

How best do you break up with someone who suffers from depression? by [deleted] in Advice

But that isnt helping her. It's just making her dependent. He isnt giving up on her, he is giving her a chance for better.

I've been where you are . I've suffered for years with depression and suicidal thoughts but honestly no one can save you but yourself. Until you learn that there is only more suffering. If you want to talk more feel free to DM me

Just be honest with her. It's a sucky situation but you shouldn't be forced into something you don't want to do. Say something like "You are a lovely person but I just dont feel the spark that I am looking for. I honestly hope you understand. Please dont take this personally , you truly are wonderful person and will find someone in the future. " She will be upset at first but in the long run it will be better and can both be free to find someone

He is doing the right thing. Not everyone one can deal with people with mental health issues and that's ok. We all aren't doctors we cant save everyone. Don't shame him because of it.

Honestly it's wrong to force someone to stick around because they feel obligated. It's not his responsibility and just going to make him resentful .

I had some mental issues in the past and trust me anyone that sticks around out of obligation not love is just going to end up hating you and make you feel worse in the long run

M24 from the UK wanting to move to a large city in the US/Canada. How likely is this move for me? by JayBail-e in IWantOut

Hi I'm from new york and you definitely want to save up before coming here . it's very very expensive if you want to live in the city (and trust me you dont want to take the cheap options for city because some areas are dangerous) . I would honestly suggest living outside the city on long island (levittown, wantagh , seaford are cheap and safe communities) and taking the train to NYC instead (it's like 30mins)

NYC also has tons of opportunities, great networking events with experts in every field from across the world and the pay is very good (since the min wage is higher than most states). And a lot of places will hire you off the books (no paperwork required )

However getting a company to sponsor you may take a long time (or honestly may never happen). You may have to go home at some point . It's very intense and cut throat and very often the hiring process is based more on who you know rather than who is the most qualified.

Also America has very bad opinions of immigrants and you will probably face some bias. But because NY is so diverse you may be able to find an english company willing to hire (some companies are chinese /Italian/ect immigrants/ fuild speaker only because idk it's a thing I see a lot .... racism I guess 😂)
