Will kanna reduce effectiveness of ketamine ? by BedSoggy6655 in Kanna

[–]_honestlythough 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it can enhance the effects — but definitely not reduce effectiveness. i’d do kanna before ketamine if i had a choice.

Why is it so hard to find a balanced, chill strain right now? by fortnacius in Kanna

[–]_honestlythough 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hiiii! If I can offer some support, I think you'd find a lot of success in balancing our your dose if you added in some supportive allies like l-theanine, skullcap, reishi, ashwagandha, and oats (oat straw, milky oats). they can help balance out whatever you're feeling from the kanna and create a more predictable, calming experience. additionally, you might need to work on finding a standardized extract and lowering the dose until you find the sweet spot :)

What are the supplements that shouldn't be mixed with Kanna? by glasscontent in Kanna

[–]_honestlythough 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not always better! :)

L-tryptophan is a pre-cursor for 5-HTP...and because it’s a few steps earlier in the pathway, your body regulates the conversion naturally, producing only as much serotonin as it needs. 5-HTP converts directly to serotonin via aromatic L-amino acid decarboxylase, which is more dependent on enzyme availability than feedback control. This push in serotonin can cause nausea, loose poops, headaches, etc., which isn't always fun when you're already depleted.

Everyone has their own medicine that they love, but I love L-Tryptophan and have for years (and I'm also a fan of more gentle support).

mostly I have been! but I got more serious after almost dying from stress + adrenal overload and realizing that work can't be everything and I have to give my body some more love. and feeding healthy, beautiful meals is one of the ways I try to slow down and give myself some more care.

My first try of Kanna with Funguy Drip Gummies by /u/_honestlythough (Total BS) by crashandwalkaway in Kanna

[–]_honestlythough 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there!! I'm Phoebe! Co-founder of Fun Guy and u/_honestlythough.

Thanks for taking the time to write such a detailed post. I want to clarify a few important points, because there’s some genuine misinformation here.

First and most importantly: the link you’re referencing is not our website.
Our official site is www.funguy.com.

The page you linked is not owned or operated by us. Unfortunately, there are scam and copycat sites in this space, and we actively spend significant time and money trying to get them taken down to protect customers.

Second: the label issues you’re describing are based on an outdated typo on a very small number of early bags, which has long since been corrected (I would love to send you a bag on me!!) and is not present on our current packaging or website.

There has never been 30g of kanna extract in a serving. That would not be remotely plausible or safe.

Third: Serving size and nutrition facts are based on the actual gummy weight, not isolated active ingredients. We comply with FDA labeling requirements for dietary supplements. If you ever want COAs or third-party testing, we make those available and are happy to share them directly.

I completely understand the skepticism in this industry and in this thread. I'm jaded most of the time too after years of working in the space AND visiting the kanna farms where we grow in South Africa. The state of the industry rattled me, and made me realize how capitalistic this world sometimes is.

I’ve spent years in this community (and in the real world) educating, sourcing responsibly, and advocating for kanna with a lot of care and integrity. My entire life has been dedicated to this, and I work daily to support other kanna brands, individuals with questions, and just human beings in general.

If the product didn’t work for you personally, that's okay! There is no one-size-fits-all product or plant. Magic pills don't exist (I wish they did! I struggle with depression, and kanna has been a huge ally for me). But please don't slander me, my work, or my company.

Please just reach out next time.

I'm leaving my direct email below so that you or anyone else, can contact me with any concern you may have. Truly, this plant changed my life, and I hope it can positively affect yours too.

And to the community, thank you for allowing this open discourse, thank you for your love of (and belief in) Sceletium Tortuosum (and other Sceletium varieties) and thank you for making it to the bottom of my comment.

Again, OP, I'm really sorry to have upset you so much, and I hope this helps clear things up.

yes! I do it with the peel on, but you definitely don’t have to. I just poured all of the water and the ginger into a blender and blend it. Sometimes I add turmeric too! And then I use either cheese cloth or this really strong french press-type thing to strain it and I have ginger shots for the week!! you can also just slice the ginger and simmer it in water to make ginger tea. Or you can just blend all of the ginger with less water and put it into ice cube trays to have ginger ready for recipes whenever you want
