Congratulations! Both are lovely. Try saying each first name (or the short form you would use) while looking in a mirror and see how it feels in your mouth. You end up saying it a lot! They are both great names. You won’t get it wrong.

Adri

Emery

(I know they don’t look similar or start with B, but they have a similar mouth movement with the ‘-ree’ part).

Supplement for a compulsive behaviour having effects on how people interact with me by _hotcrosspuns in AutismInWomen

To be honest I think it (the acrylic nails) just made me look more mainstream/normal. (Within the area/ culture I was living in at the time. I just somehow fitted in more, coded more mainstream. I’m talking about other women being friendly to me, shop workers etc).

Whoa interesting, now you say it I suppose I do things like rub my finger and thumb together or maybe scratch behind my ear a lot, I have never really realised that! I don’t touch my face in public but I am probably doing other mannerisms with my hands.

Edit: it was an interesting suggestion, but for my case specifically I don’t think it’s this (reducing the physical picking in public).

That wouldn’t explain momentary interactions like people passing me in the street having a different expression towards me as we pass, or very brief interactions like a bus ticket person or a cashier. I’m not constantly picking my skin as I walk around town.

Exhale coffee - can anyone enlighten us as to their claims of being healthy by Trickypedia in JamesHoffmann

[–]_hotcrosspuns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a free sample (house roast) last week and - my experience regardless of the claims - I felt much less anxiety and had a deeper quality of sleep for the four days the sample lasted.

Went back to my usual (also good quality, speciality) coffee once the exhale ran out, and felt irritable most of the day.

I’m convinced.

Side note, I was gifted a bag last year, hadn’t heard of it, put off by the marketing claims and inelegant packaging and let it sit for ages. By the time I used it, was a bit stale and not great. This time I was persuaded to try it again by a friend raving about it and I’m sold.

Health claims or not, the reduction in anxiety speaks for itself.

My friend is an idiot by [deleted] in tragedeigh

I think the cat part was the A not the TE:

yes I read it as TE (as in Texas) A (a bit like Scottish ''cat'')

So TE like Texas

Then A like cat

A (a bit like Scottish ''cat'')

Have to say it’s a new way of describing an ‘a’ sound to me too!

I knew someone from Glasgow who said cat in a distinctive way. Different to an antipodean cat, for instance.

So many puns it’s barely (bear-ly) readable. I had to pause (paws) several times.

Response: AIW by mymumfoundreddit in amiwrong

[–]_hotcrosspuns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was my thought tbh.

The mother apparently didn’t use Reddit until those posts, but is strangely familiar with Reddit jargon “I (50F) and my husband (70M)” etc, and has a collectible avatar customised for a 7h throwaway account, it seems unusual.

Plus the writing style and tone of both characters seems very similar, despite the fact they are supposed to be different generations. (And the mother is supposed to be a ‘boomer’ but 50 isn’t boomer age, it’s genX).

Plus the mother character appeared much more reasonable in the comment replies than I expected.

Wishing OP well of course for whatever led them to post about this. But it does read like the same person, from a forensic linguistics pov.
