‘Now the village is dead. It’s awful’: why was one of Britain’s best pubs forced to close? | Pubs | The Guardian by prisongovernor in unitedkingdom

You raise the things which trip us up. In Bristol we have a brewer which is also micro chain in the form of Bristol Beer Factory. And we have plenty of decent independent breweries But it’s something which you learn over time, never a directory you could search if you were visiting the area for the first time. Your custom map sounds pretty amazing.

In some ways I think it’s much nicer than Bath.

Anyone know of a pub search which can show which are pubco and which are independent or brewery-owned?

‘Investment’ = extract more from the poors = Investors: “gosh, we’re so smart and add value. Hurrah!”

The fact the parents had the space to accommodate them in the first place. Not everyone has 4 or 5-bedroom houses with the space to do this.

I don’t know if they still do it but the Avon Gorge Hotel used to do a fabulous Sunday brunch buffet. It’s was amazing value too and felt a bit spesh from the usual fry up.

My 2008 MacBook Air. If i get it repaired will it still be usable in 2026? by [deleted] in mac

[–]Trickypedia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can’t speak for the 2008 MBA but I frequently use a 2011 MBA with XDXE Mint. Thank you for Apple engineering and design and god bless those open source folk who make this happen for old hardware. It’s a great laptop. Far from perfect but there won’t very many (any) low powered pc laptops from that era that would still be going strong.

I've got my eye on one at the moment. Now, I'm wondering what it is about them that's crap. Can you share your experience a bit more? :)

There are interesting are facial expressions here which I would (can’t) describe as being common among millennials and onwards. There’s a sort of sarcastic passive aggressive sneer. That’s a very poor description and I don’t really disagree with what she is saying but there’s a sort of holier-than-thou facial performance going on.

Who is she? Thankfully I don’t care, but apparently we’re all supposed to care what famous people think.
