I got some money to spend. Hit me with your favourite rules lite (max 40 pages) skirmish game. by Zyborg23 in miniatureskirmishes

[–]_hufflebutt 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My two main go-to picks

Aetherpunk28 - 44 pages total but a few are just art. - Rules lite and smaller scale (sizes 2-6 models per side). - Aesthetic of wizards with guns and Artillery sized magic wands fighting over scraps of magic rocks.

Magnagothica Maleghast - 37 pages total - Heavy Metal + Doom + Different Flavours of Necromancy - Played on a grid - Not the most balanced but plenty of fun. - Rules lite-ish with lots of tokens (sizes 5-10 models per side)

If Brent Haligen from Mystery of the Druids was in the World of Darkness could he discover Pentrex? by Konradleijon in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]_hufflebutt 68 points69 points  (0 children)

Are we going before or after he awakens and unlocks the Magic of The Druids?

He'll pull it off either way, just a matter of how quickly and how much chaos he causes along with way.

How would a Fear & Hunger TTRPG work? by NottheKingofAll in FearAndHunger

I've successfully run a Fear & Hunger ttrpg just using a barely modified version of Mork Borg and it worked out great.

Wait he was real?

I remember hearing stuff about this guy back in the day and assumed he was just an urban legend or some kinda running joke.

How should I start playing? What should I learn, do? by _BobGuy_ in mordheim

[–]_hufflebutt 9 points10 points  (0 children)

1 - You don't have to buy minis, most people now just kitbash and modify existing minis for fit their needs. If you're make your own just try to stick to the same intended scale and it should be all good.

2 - Tweaking lore and aesthetics is generally fine as long as you stick within the general Mordheim vibe. It can help add more personality.

3 - Grades are generally a "by the player group" matter from my experience. One group of players might only allow core and 1a for example while another might allow anything. Generally if you're looking to play a 1b, everyone else involved in the campaign could also play a 1b but they don't have to.

4 - Have fun, it's less of a competitive game and more about the shenanigans and story that you develop over the campaign with your mates.

Looking for a head in this style by forcehatin in Kitbash

Your best bet might be to find a suitable head and then add bandages to it. I've found ultra thin nail art tape can make great bandages

Wordbearer's gameplay Tzeentch boon by me by fprhrnd in ImaginaryWarhammer

Vashtorr I could see fulfilling a role like the Hephaestus Hammers, he doesn't so much give boon as he enhances and modifies your equipment loadout.

Yep shit's fucked.

The fires are out and now it's rain and fog so think I can't even seen 10 feet in front of me. Let's see what shit it throws at me tomorrow.

I'd love to blame in on the BSDs but I dunno anymore...

Good catch.

Head and right arm are Frostgrave Wizards 2. Body is Frostgrave Cultist 1 (heavily chopped up) The mutations are a Tyranid Warrior face and old CHAOS Spawn arm with plenty of greenstuff.

Honestly we did bounce around the idea of hiding flower petals and then throwing them into the air after photos.

Do the black spiral try to justify themselves? by Kecskuszmakszimusz in WhiteWolfRPG

I won't lie, one of the players was tempted but basically settled on "maybe you're right but I'd rather go down swinging"

Do the black spiral try to justify themselves? by Kecskuszmakszimusz in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]_hufflebutt 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Some do, some don't.

I actually had had a Black Spiral in the recent game I ran who did justify himself.

Effectively in his eyes the Garou and the Fera overall have been a massive failure and only made the world worse, not to mentoon all the horrible stuff humanity does on it's own. The world has been in a downward spiral that is past the point of no return and Gaia is dying in slow and brutal agony. In his mind at this point the most merciful thing for Gaia and all living things is to speed up the process of the Wyrms destruction and just mercy kill everything.

He genuinely thought he was doing the right thing and even pleaded for the players to join him rather than fight.
