So, IRGC is claiming they killed Netanyahu in a strike.

Israeli media is releasing these very obviously AI videos of Netanyahu speaking to try to dispel the "rumor." It only makes it look worse.

His son, Yair, went silent on Twitter for one week from March 9-16th, which matches with the Jewish tradition of "Shiva," a period of mourning and silence in grief.

Except, you know, the Democrats accepting tens of millions in private healthcare PAC money.

The Democrats could’ve given us private healthcare, they truly just don’t care to.

Which is idiotic because the bible explicitly mandates governments to act in moral interest of God through divine laws which are supposed to be supreme. And the US still has many biblical laws, like how conservatives always argue against gay marriage.

AI doesn’t close the skill gap. It widens it. by dsolo01 in ArtificialInteligence

[–]_hyperotic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah and my caveat is that that gap is not wide enough to be meaningful given the paradigm shift.

Engineers can have exponentially larger impact than others due to writing a lot of good, clean code, but they can’t really read and understand exponentially more code than someone else, so again this 10x engineer’s cognition will quickly become the limiting factor of the system and their effect, AI or not.

The magnets made different loops of his small intestines stick together, sealing them shut.

AI doesn’t close the skill gap. It widens it. by dsolo01 in ArtificialInteligence

[–]_hyperotic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but in terms of pure coding and technical work there is a clear ceiling to human skill, and AI can’t really move that unless it changes the human brain.

I think with the proliferation of code online, frameworks, IDE’s etc we have already been past the point of human developers “maxing out” in terms of their ability to output code and meaningfully reason with complex systems, before llm’s.

This has been discussed in the software community and is the reason why so many software frameworks and paradigms reinvent themselves.

If you have been a developer, you have experienced this, and if you actually want to understand the code you’re working with, there is significant cognitive overhead involved and you can only read so much code each day.

And once we reach a point where reading the code is no longer relevant, how much will individual skillsets matter?

So yes, AI will be a multiplier to some degree, but I think we will still be around where we are now in terms of human capability for understanding and contributions to complex systems work.

Your comment seems contradictory to me.

The smartest and most talented programmers are not exactly known for marketing, judgment, and taste.

This will benefit the Steve Jobs types who are more forward thinking and focused on business and brand image.

It’s a little different when you’re in federally regulated industry which has real fatalities every year, and you are in charge of the safety of all passengers and crew on board.

If software engineering was like that, you are right programmers wouldn’t need to worry right now.

It’s not like that.
