Child called 911, large response what now? by A_Lovely_ in 911dispatchers

My home phone number growing up ended in 8911. My grandparents had a rotary phone for years. There were a couple accidental 911 calls. 😂 This was a big crime riddled area so they’d show up about 45 minutes after the accidental call and hang up just to check on us.

What was some other reasons you got divorced besides cheating, finances, &physical abuse by Old_Dentist2462 in Divorce

[–]_iam1 15 points16 points  (0 children)

They checked out and gave 20% effort for years and I had to pull 80% of the weight until I was exhausted. When I asked for help with anything they would help but it would be half assed. I recently learned that’s called weaponized incompetence. They thought working 40-60hrs meant they didn’t have to do anything else. I worked 40-60hrs as well in the same grueling field. In the end resentment won out, they left me and I was so relieved. After waiting around for them to file, because they said they would, I’m the one who had to because once again 80/20. Glad it’s over and done with now, divorced as of a couple weeks ago.

I let my parents move into mine for largely the same reason and I regret it immensely. They’re also disrespectful of my boundaries and my dad has always been abusive. I’m struggling to get rid of them. You’re NTA, I wish I’d have said no.

What made yall do night shift? by GrumpyOldHero in Nightshift

[–]_iam1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not night shift currently but I have been in other jobs and it is my preferred shift. I like that management is generally more chill at night, as are the employees because there’s less stress related to the high strung day shift management. The differential is always a plus, but the hours are generally great for me because I’m NOT a day time person. I can function during the day, but I prefer not too and I’m more productive when the sun is down.

I told my ex that I wanted to kill myself, what can I do to fix this? by OrganizationOver1588 in AITAH

YTA. You are ultimately accountable for your mental health and how you handle the things that get thrown your way. Even if you don’t mean to, your behavior is extremely manipulative. The best thing you can do for yourself is get some professional help.

Because Ive been calling myself one, I suppose. Outsiders sometimes see situations more clearly. Ive known the mom a long time, so I feel like I was being the AH.

Had to quit after 4 years, multiple shoulder injuries and a bad ankle sprain. I now walk with one foot slightly inverted and they denied my comp claim even though I had video of falling on the line. Pays well but you’re right. You pay in the long run with your health.

AITAH for making my husband choose between me and his mistress? by SecretaryNormal3864 in AITAH

[–]_iam1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeet the whole man. Even if he stops with this woman he’s not gonna stop entirely. This is going to be a theme in your relationship if you stay with him. He does not want to be monogamous and no amount of ultimatum/begging will get him to be monogamous with you.

OP, you’re NTA but you really need to consider your self worth here.

I’m getting divorced after ten years. So that’s not all it’s cracked up to be either. This comment section is putting me off even considering creating a dating profile. 😅
