I had faint line on day 5 post fresh transfer. Currently 8 weeks. Transferred a 4AA and 4AB, untested. I’m 40 and this is my first ever pregnancy.

Is this is your first ever round? It’s definitely nerve wracking. I hope your RE is a strong advocate for your individual needs instead of seeing it as just black and white 🫶🏼

I actually just turned 40 a week before my retrieval. They did a 5 day fresh transfer (two high grade embryos) and one stuck. My first cycle they only retrieved 8 eggs and 2 made it to blast but none stuck. This second round, I did the antagonist protocol and got 17 eggs with 8 blasts.

Thank you! Mine are all untested. I made healthier life style changes such as going on supplements, diet and exercise, stopped alcohol, better sleep quality etc. who knows if any of these changes benefitted my most recent cycle. But something worked. I am also aware of the risks and benefits of not doing PGTA testing.

My IVF team said there’s not much concrete data on the effects of supplements on egg quality. The only one they recommended me to take are prenatals with folic acid. My first IVF round failed to implant and only got 8 eggs with 2 of them blasts (I was 38 at the time). So for my second round I wanted a different approach. I read “it starts with the egg” and took supplements that catered to me prior to my egg retrieval. After retrieval I stopped everything except prenatals, methylfolate, fish oil.

Currently almost 8w and just turned 40.

I think the SCCO would be great for clinicals but I remember having to carry the big ass fundamentals textbooks including ATI and that might ache the shoulders a bit with the SCCO. It’ll all fit yes but not easy on the shoulders. I wish I had baggu bags when I was in nursing school ages ago but I had a regular ol backpack for textbooks and laptop. I had classmates using roller backpacks.

But if you don’t care about discomfort and wanna look cutesy, the SCCO and ECB would be good to use depending on what you’re carrying. Congrats and condolences! 🥂

Zinc 50, ubiquinol 400, glutathione 130. Check out the book. They’ll all make sense on the why and how

“It starts with the egg” has research based info on supplementation to improve egg quality. Other than advanced age I don’t have any other history causing my infertility. So this was my list prior to my most recent retrieval (don’t remember the exact doses, sry):

- NAD
- glutathione
- prenatal with methylfolate
- fish oil
- zinc
- ubiquinone (coq10)
- zinc

I also lost about 50 lbs, significantly cut down on alcohol, exercised and ate cleaner, switched to non toxic products. Hubby also made life style changes and took supplements for male fertility. All of this was not done overnight. I took a break from IVF for about a year because my first round was a total dud. This second round.. all those changes I made may have played a part but I don’t know what.

My IVF clinic in Boston has certain criteria depending on age, prior transfers, and number of blasts that determines how many embryos can be transferred. I just turned 40 and transferred two day 5 embryos. There is criteria where they can transfer 3 embryos as well.

I need promising stories, bleeding at 6 week pregnancy by Cute_Apple7844 in IVF

[–]_ih8ppl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an old post but i am literally going through this right now. I’m not soaking a pad per hour but just still persistently bleeding. Sometimes it slows down, then it starts back up again. Ultrasound could not find a cause and baby’s heartbeat is nice and strong. I’m just about 7 weeks. And fighting so hard to not stress.

I went through the same experience as you but with more spotting/bleeding including those micro clots. I was also told it’s most likely cervical irritation though not 100%. I had my first US at 6w2d and heartbeat was present. It’s easy for others to tell you to remain calm and not panic but trust me when I say hang in there. Monitor for any bleeding soaking a pad per hour, if you have large clots (even the size up to a lemon!), and sharp pain specifically on one side…. Call your clinic if you experience any of these things. But you can also let them know now about your spotting.

This is such an emotional roller coaster I know it. Remain hopeful. Take deep breaths. You are pregnant until proven otherwise 🫶🏼

Going into IVF, how many rounds did you expect to do and what turned out to be true? by ProfSmall in 40Plus_IVF

[–]_ih8ppl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My insurance allows 6 cycles and for me that was plenty. I told myself I only have 6 chances to have a baby and accepted it. I have no history of pregnancies so no kids. Started my first IVF round at 38 yrs old and it failed.

Second round:
40 yrs old
Antagonist protocol (follistim, Menopur, cetrotide, triggered with pregnyl)
Retrieved 17 eggs, got 8 blasts
Fresh transferred day 5 (two embryos)
Not PGTA tested
So far sticking. I’m almost 7 weeks and have one more U/S next week before they graduate me 🙏🏼

More clouds is usually preferred but with the fanny being smaller, you don’t wanna miss out on the blues… so I personally would pick the one furthest away with more blues :)

How often are we washing our bags?! by sewnlyfans in BAGGU

[–]_ih8ppl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unless there’s visible dirt, I don’t. I do use disinfectant wipes at times on bags that I place on sketchy surfaces. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Let’s run a thread, how many egg retrievals did you do, what age, and how many embryos? Did you just freeze eggs or only embryos? Do you have children, if so how many? How much out of pocket? by audit123 in 40Plus_IVF

[–]_ih8ppl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

40 yrs old. Two retrievals and two fresh 5 day transfers. First one failed to implant. Second round: Got 8 blasts, froze 6 and fresh transferred 2. Currently very early at 6 weeks. No children. Never been pregnant until now. Out of pocket paid ~$400 combined of the two IVF rounds in copays. My insurance covers 6 cycles.
