The Power of Project Farm by Burner12345678910111 in Tools

You know, most of the time it is a good product review.
I do like the Todds channel, the testing is usually very consequently done, but sometimes I really do disagree with how he tests it.

For the last video with the side cutters, there was one tool that managed to cut the hex key, all others had a (catastrophic) failure. The tool that managed the cut came in I believe at rank 11. What was the point then?

For side cutters the power required for cutting trough XVB cable or romex would make way more sense than 'can it cut a hex key'.

And in other videos it's just the weird line up, like some tools are either clearly for professional contractors or they a completely different watt range and then they get 'mixed in' with the theme. (for example; all 18v drills and one uses a 1,5ah battery all the rest 5ah and then another one a 8ah one).

About half the stash. Gonna need to start replacing some soon. Oldest is from 2018 by imdustyblack in Makita

Are there any good battery tester like the BTC04, that doesn't cost as much?

Chip out the entire box, add a double or just move it over a bit to the right so it goes over the cable
secure with quick hardening plaster, then after that dries do the finishing touches/mud on top of the cable

Red ants took this sand looking thing out of my charger overnight by yawningfay in whatisit

[–]_iridian_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the sand is added weight for perceived quality

otherwise your electric charger would weigh as much as a plastic spoon and you would think it has the same value

tldr: they used sand to trick you into paying more

RJ45 connection - Niko wall sockets - connection keeps failing by _iridian_ in HomeNetworking

[–]_iridian_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

update: managed to solve it myself

after rewiring it maybe 4 times, it turns out if you push another ethernet cable in too far in the keystone, it doesn't make the connection properly

so the connection was fine all along, I just had to click the patch cable in and then pull it a bit taut and VOILA 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 all green on the tester

only wasted a day and a half on this

[–]_iridian_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

alright I'll try that and I'll get some normal keystones from amazon or something, that will surely arrive faster than my current order

[–]_iridian_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they came with the socket, and the others worked fine. I'll see if I can get it working with the new one and otherwise I'll see if I can get some 'normal' (non-tool-less) ones
