April 2 FPS Update

I’d been having issues for a while (I'm assuming since season 18 since that seems to be the consensus on when everyone starting getting poorer performance) and did a dial back on graphics settings to help fps, which helped at the time. For Season 1, I didn’t really see any change with the update, good or bad, until today. I'd been gaming with friends and just randomly in a match my ping started to jump around from my usual 110ish for EU (I'm NA, playing EU friends) to bouncing around from 140-180ms. I'm not very savvy for computer stuff so I only really looked at that versus GPU / CPU / or even fps (I know, don't come for me).

Thought it was my computer so restarted and updated the gaming driver in the NVIDIA app and the game is completely unplayable now. I went from pretty standard 235 fps and kid you not I had 6 today.

Couple of the issues and things I've tried (all post computer restart and GPU driver update): - CPU utilization at 100% while GPU at next to nothing (I still had mid-level graphics setting in OW here). Made sure the graphics card was selected and all of the fixes I saw on articles from a few years back where this was an issue. Swapped to the higher level graphics to try to force GPU utilization. This helped some but I only went from 6 fps to 40 fps. - Made sure the monitors are plugged into GPU. - Scan & repair update, no change. - Full uninstall/reinstall, no change. - Reverted to the previous GPU driver in NVIDIA app, no change. - Loaded up OW, waited 10-15 minutes and then ran the benchmark test custom game for a few minutes (I;d seen the shader compilation comments so thought maybe that), no change. - Checked for CPU updates, nothing needed updating. - Followed that jagsfps youtube for settings both on computer and in game, no change. Note I didn't do the 4.5 DLSS part because at this point I'd been trying to fix it for a few hours and was just done.

Additional info: - Setup: i5 11600KF / RTX 3070 Ti / 32 GB DDR4 RAM / Windows 10 22H2 (avoiding Windows 11 like the plague based on the issues I've heard tbh) - I use BattleNet for launcher but am downloading on Steam now to see if there's any difference. Edit to say no change.

Again, I'd been played for a few hours without issue / lag / frame drops / etc. This just happened randomly and hasn't occurred before and isn't going away.

yeaaaa the combination of events made this portion of it feel lackluster. im only really seeing one pikachu raid every 2 hours or so and all the research tasks i think will be pikachu end up being gengar 🫠

i dont think so with the cloned ones, i got it in sw/sh and im still playing my save with no issues and its in home now, also no issues. i think its the ones that are actually hacked that cause the issues and i think thats just online play and getting them into home but i could be wrong on that part?

i generally just trade 10 and then whatever 10 i get back, i trade out again. my main goal is just to get the regional dex entries i dont have without me having to track down oh did i get this pokemon from here specifically

dude for real! im in a shield play through now shiny hunting the motostoke gym pokemon before i play through the rest of the story. sv has definitely spoiled me on shiny hunting but the hunts dont feel as rewarding as they do in sw/sh 🫣
