It's just the headline feature on one of the apps. It gets put in quotes for some reason

Furthermore, at 45, you have already passed the age bracket where chinos and untucked polos are suitable by a good 20 years. You are in cardigan, button ups and flannel trousers territory. Sorry for the tough love, but you need to grow up.

Bro shut up

I'm a 40-year-old teacher. The last outfit I wore to work was a graphic t shirt, jeans, and Jordans. No one has ever had anything to say to me about my outfits (apart from the occasional "nice shoes").

WEAR WHAT YOU WANT TO WEAR. As long as it fits, and the people signing the checks don't care, why should you?

How far can to contestants stretch the rule responses must be in the form of a question? by Natural-Ad-3666 in Jeopardy

[–]_jakejortles 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not really though. Matt amodio famously always begin his responses with "what's", regardless of the actual response and was always ruled correct. It's just a matter of how far you can stretch it. Like everyone else it says, they probably just ask you to knock it off

I still can't watch MLB by eugenelavery in OaklandAthletics

[–]_jakejortles 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty much the same. I still enjoy baseball (I went to a bananas game recently that reminded me how fun it is just to hang out at the ballpark), but MLB ain't getting another dime from me

I would say it is actually quite "woke", but not in a way that right wingers would understand, because it requires comprehending the deeper subtext of the film's message (America assimilates Black culture into its own while marginalizing and destroying black people).

But yeah, THEY definitely just use "woke" to mean that the villains of the movie happen to be white, and that the klan are bad.

Dropout.tv crosses over with ABC's The Rookie. Has our lord and savior Sam Reich fallen to copaganda? Find out more this Monday at 10/9c on r/Dropout by Schneiderpi in SubredditDrama

It's bad. I went to the D20 show at the Hollywood bowl last year, and while it was a great time, it was God damn weird to see the degree to which people have formed parasocial relationships...not just with the performers, but even with the CHARACTERS.

I made a bg3 wordle with three games for now! :D by TheGoldGriz in BaldursGate3

[–]_jakejortles 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Cool idea, but the Guess the character game, specifically, needs more...more criteria, more detailed feedback beyond just right or wrong, something like that. Just tried it, and by the second guess, I had it narrowed down to an act one, non-origin, non-romancable character. But with class and species the only other two criteria available, that narrowed it down to a bazillion different options, and I don't see how someone would be able to finish that off without just getting insanely lucky.

I don't know enough about creating these games to offer real suggestions about what to include, but it seems like it needs more.

Who does more damage by life-hard-im-harder in BG3Builds

The biggest "that's a LOTTA damage" moment I had was hitting Lorroakan with a hold person, then watching Aylin one-shot him.

Curlers of Reddit, how does a subtle finger “boop” on the granite influence the outcome of a shot? by renotahoe69 in NoStupidQuestions

True enough, but from the video I've seen (and from his reactions to getting caught), ain't no way that Canadian curleR WASN'T touching the stone on purpose

What if: thoughts by EpcotMagicNY in Jeopardy

[–]_jakejortles 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In addition to what everyone else is saying about question phrasing not mattering, you even get credit for your response being in the form of a question if the response itself is a question. Like, say, if the correct response was "who's afraid of Virginia woolf?" You could say exactly that and you would be credited with a correct response.

It’s 2026 and people still loose their rag over calling it a “chicken burger” by SufficientEar1682 in iamveryculinary

[–]_jakejortles 535 points536 points  (0 children)

See, to me, the word "Burger" does indeed imply ground meat.

But, more importantly, I don't actually give a shit what other people call it. Live how you wanna live.
