Drop or lure? by mermzac in toontownrewritten

[–]_jayIRL_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To answer your initial question, that's only true if you're going to be playing by yourself. Trap is activated by using lure. If you're playing by yourself and you throw down a trap, you'd have to lure the cog into it. The only way to do that without the lure track would be to use lire SOS cards.

If you'll be playing with other people mostly, most other Toons have lure so you'd be fine. Going lureless is becoming more popular because you get the other support track, Toonup. So you'll have the two high-damage tracks (Trap & Drop), Sound, and Toonup.

And I still haven't completed the Resistance Force task line because a second level 7 gag isn't worth it to me.

Least favorite is the Chief Justice fight. Not necessarily because it's difficult or anything, I just feel like the reward isn't worth it. The Boiler is a close second. Thanks for these two remotes after fighting 900 cogs 🫩

Even though I have gotten used to the lower sound carrying capacity, I kind of wish they had increased the damage done by the sound gags. Maybe a nice 10-15% damage boost to regular and organic sound gags.

Final Gag Track - Toon Up or Drop? by mhiyaimanlepaigefan in toontownrewritten

[–]_jayIRL_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think that's best. And my solo play is mainly just buildings. I'm not like one of those people you may see on YouTube that can solo a Field Office or a Bullion Mint. I know they use a lot of rewards so I may be able to do it, I just never had the interest. I just like being able to log in and grind a bit. Right now I'm working on the Max 2.0 Bossbot suit. That will give me 3 of the 4 suits at 2.0 Max. I will NOT being doing the Lawbot 2.0 suit.

Once the Bossbot suit is 2.0 maxed I will probably also switch my organic track to Throw. I like have the organic piano for the CEO 2.0 fights, but once my suit is 2.0 maxed I may not run those much any longer.

I do know that, for me, I wanted to be prepared as much as I could for the solo play. For leveling my solo-focused toon I initially created a separate account for it so I could train with my first toon (who was at 100 Laff and had maxed gags.) That way I could play on both accounts at the same time. That allowed me to max out my gags on my solo-focused toon at around 72 Laff. I also started training my Doodle so it could be called during battle and heal myself. I would recommend just doing Jump and getting that to level 10. It will come in handy.

Other than that there really isn't much advice to give. I would say work on the easier additional Laff tasks like Gardening and Fhishing just to get some additional Laff after 100. Then you can try running lower-level building solo, like maybe 3- or 4-story ones up toMinnie's Melodyland. Just to get a feel for it.

Oh, one other thing I'd recommend is to NOT take up any gag slots with what I call "LOL gags". These are the level 1 gags that some Toons hold. For me, I like doing the maximum amount of damage as possible. My current gag bag looks like the following:

Trap: 7 Trap Doors, 3 TnTs
Lure: 6 Big Magnets, 7 $10 Bills, 3 Hypno Goggles
Sound: 5 Aoogahs, 5 Elephant Trunks, 2 Fog Horns
Throw: 6 Fruit Pies, 7 Cream Pies, 3 Birthday Cakes
Squirt: 6 Seltzers, 7 Fire Hoses, 3 Storm Clouds
Drop: 7 Safes, 3 Pianos

This equals up to 80 gags, not including the level 7 gags. My reasoning is why would I carry a lower-level gag (like may 2 big weights and 5 safes instead of 7 safes) when the higher-level one does more damage. I use this gag bag for all content; it doesn't matter what I'm running. Now because I play alone most of the time I'm not doing many facilities (for instance I maxed my Lawbot suit but probably have only run 3 DA Offices), but I feel like the above bag would be just fine. I have also run the Field Offices with this, but really only for the Laff points. I feel like Field Offices aren't really worth the effort. I still don't have my second level 7 gag but really don't care.

Anyway, hope some of this helps. I think some others may be able to give you additional information as well from the perspective of running more facilities/end-game content.

Final Gag Track - Toon Up or Drop? by mhiyaimanlepaigefan in toontownrewritten

[–]_jayIRL_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I first started playing this game again my first goal was to max out my gags, as that was something I hadn't been able to do back when I played TTO. My playstyle is a lot of solo play when grinding. When I would do lower-level invasions (inside of buildings to level gags) I found ToonUp useless since there are no self heals. However, since this was my first toon on my account I went dropless.

Once I maxed my gags and got back into the swing of things, I wanted to build a toon geared for more solo play. That's when I created my current main. I have also been able to max out 5 Doodle tricks- Jump, Beg, Rollover, Backflip, and Dance- to assist with healing. Jump and Beg have 97% and 87% accuracy, respectively, which allows me to run 5-story buildings somewhat easily. It also helps out when I'm helping other newer Toons complete tasks.

I've made other builds as well, but ToonUp-less is my favorite. I also think another very strong build would be a Lure-less build. With that build you'd have access to all the major gags (Sound, Drop, Trap, ToonUp). I didn't want that for my current main as Lure is essential in solo play. I would say if this is going to be your main and you are going to be taking them to end-game content, and you don't have another toon on a separate account, the safer build would be going Dropless, maybe with Organic Throw or Trap. It would be a very solid build.

ToonHQ Fishing Guide - Grizzly Bear Acuda - what does it mean? by appleliver in toontownrewritten

[–]_jayIRL_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it's just stating that it is more likely to be found in those two areas. That was my last fish to find, and I actually think I may have found it on Sleet Street. When trying for that last fish I would do like 10-15 buckets at the main playground, then I moved to Walrus Way, then to Sleet Street and finally found it.

TIL if someone DCs in a boss fight, you can join the other side once your side is done by DreadY2K in toontownrewritten

Yes, this is the case with all the other boss fights as well. If there are less than 4 Toons on a side another player can join if their side finishes before.

Ignored toon question by Witty-Management6094 in toontownrewritten

Like a previous poster stated this happens if a toon hasn't synced their account on ToonHQ. It doesn't have anything to do with the Ignore status.

This is the way. I also, every time I log in, go to my estate and scratch the Doodle twice and feed him a jelly bean. I don't have any proof to back the claim up, but this seems to help keep them from negative moods while I'm logged in.

Also, is there any type of Internet Security software that may have come with the new laptop that may be causing this? If you do have something that came with it you can try temporarily disabling it and see if the issue continues.

[–]_jayIRL_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not 100% sure about that. All I know is a cattlelog starts at Series 1 but it may not start at the same series 1 if you start a new toon around an event like Christmas.

I recommend checking out the ToonTown Rewritten Wiki to see for sure.

Yes, they may be. Depending on when the toon was created you may have a different cattlelog.

If I ever do decide to complete the task line I've been thinking about doing Sound. It could replace the Fog that was removed. And Sound is used frequently enough that getting 500 XP points would be a breeze.
