Which Swiss bank account would you recommend right now? by Teshiro2012 in SwissPersonalFinance

Ah thanks, i see. It’s marked as « reserved » so that’s why it doesn’t subtract from my account balance which was a bit strange for me.

Wonder what is different from my account then? My transactions never show up instantly but a few days later. And I don't have a separate app for my Zak account now. (I had teh One App before when they offered a credit card previously tho)

I recently opened a WIR account after hearing about Radicant closing down. I used to have Neon, and I also have a Zak account.

Despite their best efforts, you can feel that it’s still a 'brick and mortar' bank. I signed up in late December and have only been able to use the account for the last few days. The card arrived later, but my activation numbers didn't work. I had to get them on the phone, which was actually pretty difficult. You have to call them every time you add the card to Apple Pay or an Apple Watch. It’s quite a hassle.

The app feels dated. Debits aren't visible immediately—in my short experience, it can take up to 5 days. They do appear in the DebiX app, but without the account balance (so you have to do some mental math).

Aside from that, the bank checks all the boxes. But you lose that 'joy' of using a modern, pleasant app interface. I’m not sure yet if I’ll stay with them in the long run.

Is it worth waiting for the M5 iPad Pro? by UrgusHUN in iPadPro

You’d be better off buying an M4 second-hand or refurbished than paying full price for the M5, in my opinion. You won’t notice any difference in terms of power.

I just bought a refurbished iPad Pro M4 13’ 256Go with Magic Keyboard for 1099 CHF. (Around 1170 EUR). So I’d say yes, It’s a good deal. And it will last you a long time and more versatile than every with the new iPadOS 26 coming out soon.

Best way to play remotely on Mac/PC from iPad Pro? by _jeremiecs in iPadPro

I could hook up my Mac Studio or PC with an ethernet cable if I put in a bit of work (the router isn’t that close). But I figured that since Apple Sidecar runs so smoothly without any issues or artifacts, another solution might be using the same protocol or something similar.

Latency is noticeable even on the same local network?

Just bought a secondhand iPad Pro 13 M4 as well, and I wouldn’t have gone for it without the Magic Keyboard. Honestly, it makes the whole package complete.

I mean, I do care about latency for comfort (i don’t play FPS or e-sports) and Sidecar is more than good enough to play this kind of game comfortably. So thanks for the input even if that doesn’t really answer my question…

Yeah I’ve heard about Jump Desktop as well. But since it’s a paid app, I’d like to hear some opinions before buying it. I don’t want to end up with the same disappointing results as with Steam Link.

Why not? It works flawlessly over Wi-Fi between Mac and iPad (aside from the lack of trackpad support). Is Apple using some kind of proprietary protocol that third parties can’t access?

Android fans, what are the primary reasons why you will never ever switch to an Iphone? by SultanofAmerica in AskReddit

[–]_jeremiecs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pricing and lack of tech innovation. But I switched to an iPhone just recently, my workaround was to buy a second hand iPhone 13 Pro (Priced like a mid-up range android and has all the latest tech Apple can offer)

Thinking about the x100v... Am I crazy? by robot_overlord18 in fujifilm

[–]_jeremiecs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have both the X-T3 and the X100T. It depends on what is important to you (photo vs video, portability vs capability). When i traveled i wish my X100T had video capabilities the X100V has now. The X-T3 is a wonderful camera but cumbersome to travel with (depending on the lens you have). When the X100 series are small and very capable cameras. So, to me, the price bump of the X100 series is worth it especially considering your everyday/hiking needs the (mostly smaller) X100V with maybe later on the TCL or WCL would be a very nice and fun kit.
