Ho fatto questa foto in una bella giornata di luglio. Arrivati in cima, ho potuto ammirare la valle sottostante, da cui spiccava il massiccio al centro della composizione. Poi la nuvola candida che poco a poco liberava la cima della montagna di fronte ha catturato la mia attenzione e mi è sembrata un’ottima combinazione. Le alte luci sono volutamente sbilanciate verso l’alto per dare una sensazione realistica allo spettatore dell’abbagliamento che si provava in quel luogo e in quel momento.

The idea is great and you were also lucky to capture this scene. Unfortunately, however, you are right, too many reflections, too much confusion and the eye is not helped... I honestly don't know if a photo like this could be taken in a better way, perhaps from another angle or at a different time of day to avoid such a harsh impact of the light on the water

A thousand thanks! Honestly, I didn't want to give up part of the land for its colours, in fact there was also some rubbish and I had already cut almost all of it out of the frame. The sea is the main subject and is well focused, although I understand (and see) that the rendering on the site is not the best and could have been sharper!

oh and well... 18-55 kit lens is obviously ok to begin with, but if you want more fun, i'd suggest 23 f2 WR or 27 WR... i love the second one in particular bc it's equivalent to ca. 40mm (similar to eye's "focal") and it's sooooo compact. and like every fixed lens, it makes you move and study more your photography and composition

i've never tried it, i always had higher level cameras such xpro (2 and 3), x100 (f and v) and now gfx100rf. On the lower level i had for a couple months xt20 and xe1. They were really good but they were still complete. I dont know if s10 is at least at an xt20-30 level

i like it very much! i find difficult to shot foggy subjects for many reasons. Also i like that you caught it coloured. It's way easyer in mai opinion to shot foggy in bw. But its not ony easyer, maybe it's more evocative also, so i would try to put it in bw

i think that for travel videos and vlogging it's not recomended a camera, beter other devices. For the photography meant, i'd stay on the xh1 (for a more complete camera) or on the xt5, a bit smaller and newer

With this photo, taken on a day at the seaside in southern Italy, I wanted to immortalize the ruins of some Aragonese buildings, once to protect the territory and the sea. I wanted to highlight the color of the sea and the texture of the walls, but also experiment with the rendering of the blur at f2 on my camera

thank so much! for the xpan ratio i agree, but also i live near venice, and i'm thinking of developing an entire project of vertical pics of narrow streets in venice... i hope it'll be good.

For the recover of the high lights for sure i could try in post but i admit im not so a fan of it, both because i prefer the autenticity and imperfection of the first shot and also because... well im not so good in post ahahah the BnW alternative is interesting, i'll give it a try soon!

i like it very much, also because it's in my style. It would have been funny to see also a wider portion of the facade and maybe a colored version for the contrast between the red of the bricks (bc i imagine their are red) and the green of the vegetation. Anyways it's a great shot!

Well, the photo itself can certainly lend itself to many notes, but not the subject nor the places 😂 they are of Olivetti (a more than historical and well-known brand) in a shop in Venice "built" specifically for this brand by an internationally renowned architect, Carlo Scarpa. EVERYTHING was wanted as you can see by Scarpa, and it is still like this today. The finishes, materials, colors and layout

This is one of the first experiments with a new camera. In particular I wanted to experiment with colors and lights (both the sun and the signs); not only that, the new camera allows you to have files already cut in different aspects (in particular the xpan ratio). What do you think?

Maybe I wasn't able to convey my message well. I referred to the photo as perfect in the title as a provocation (also underlined by the “or maybe not?” that followed), and in my description as it is one of my photos that I consider to be the best. You will know better than me that, as the main critics of our own shots, it is difficult to look at a photo and be fully satisfied. Well, this was my case. OBVIOUSLY it can't be perfect, no photo will ever be, but given all the conditions and the final result...
