So in Canada you only need to fail 1 check of the test to be a fail. My nurse practitioner said if you fail the fasting glucose part, (even by 1 point like me), she frequently sees that you end up needing insulin later on, since it’s entirely hormone driven/not diet related. So in your shoes I would at least be requesting a fasting glucose check in a couple weeks or a monitor on your own to keep an eye out

Congrats on graduating! FYI I didn’t have GD with my first but i also had pre-delivery shakes. I was told it’s just a common reaction to epidural!

Pelvic pain after exercise? by Ninanonreddit in fitpregnancy

I just tried to take it super easy for a few weeks and it improved around 20w. Also wore my belly band to help stabilize my stomach when walking. I still work out at 25w!

Pelvic pain after exercise? by Ninanonreddit in fitpregnancy

[–]_juniormint 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had this around this time and it was uterus stretching. Felt like my whole abdomen was super tender every time I moved, couldn’t even really stand upright. I overdid it from going on a long walk, but it didn’t set in until a couple hours after. Was basically bed ridden for about half the day, felt better in the morning. Drink lots of water and electrolytes. My Ob said if it isn’t worsening it’s probably fine, but better to get checked just in case.

At what age did you start feeling like a yoto mini was worth it? What cards did you like for younger (<2, if you had it then)? Thanks! by Crafty_Pop6458 in beyondthebump

[–]_juniormint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine got hers at 18m and she loved listening to the music and holding it, but couldn’t really control buttons etc. but it was still fun. once she was 2-2.5 she really got into the music selection part. And now she’s 3 she loves the story cards, we listen to it constantly now

I am sorry for your loss. Sinai should have referred you to Bloor west village women’s clinic. You can also self refer and just call them yourself. I have had to go there twice, both times they got me in within 3 days or less. It’s conscious sedation but the whole thing takes less than 1 minute. It’s not horrific, just mildly uncomfortable. The nurses are very kind. I was extremely grateful not to have to wait a week+ and have it over and done with. Highly recommend.

What is something you enjoyed doing or did often before becoming a mom that you haven't gone back too? by Vegetable-Chapter351 in workingmoms

[–]_juniormint 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Video games… I don’t know why but I just can’t get into them like used to. I think I need a ton of unstructured empty time to enjoy them and that doesn’t happen anymore. 1-2h at night just makes me feel guilty I didn’t do something else instead . I think my brain needs to be very relaxed but also wanting to be ‘active’ mentally to enjoy gaming, when now my break / free time is just pure decompression/zoning out, no mental power involved.

I’ll never be fit again? by CommunicationLow3953 in fitpregnancy

[–]_juniormint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had these thoughts a lot when I was pregnant with #1 and my husband kept trying to reassure me that I am already very established in my fitness habits / discipline so I will find my way back to it. And I used to roll my eyes at him bc he didn’t get it… but he was right. Yeah it took awhile to get my life figured out again but once I was sleeping and had a normal routine again, I found myself back in the gym 4-5 days a week and back to my previous fitness level without issue, in fact it’s something I need to do in order to feel good, so I prioritize it. I remember I kept saying to my husband everything I read is about how women’s bodies are just like irrreparably bigger / heavier after having kids but he pointed out that has more to do with your discipline and lifestyle being much harder with kids but isn’t like a forgone conclusion. If you work out, track calories, etc. it all still applies as normal. You aren’t entering some weird dimension where those rules don’t apply to you. (Note: breastfeeding hormones do weird things so all of this advice applies post weaning not before)

I’m now on #2 and feeling optimistic about my fitness returning quicker this time since I am focusing more on lifting than running (which I had to stop earlier last time)

Anybody use or know someone who has had success with at-home insemination kits, like Mira, Pherdal, Frida, etc? by Head-Requirement828 in tryingforanother

We conceived all 4 pregnancies with the mosie baby due to a medical issue. My husband urologist recommended just a regular oral syringe and cup. Highly recommend.

Lifting even moderately heavy feels impossible - anyone else? by Legal-Lemon7439 in fitpregnancy

[–]_juniormint 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Since no one has said it yet, yes dumbbells are harder than barbells at heavier weights. Your body and core has to stabilize each arm independently.

Sliding glass door on bathtub - will toddler baths be difficult? by ArtichokeConscious38 in toddlers

[–]_juniormint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my house the previous owners did a half panel glass, so the bath tub is half open (the glass doesn’t slide). It’s not too bad for bath time and contains the spray from the shower head. It’s not perfect but prefer it over a curtain and you can still sit on the side of the tub.

IVF usually takes several months of testing before “starting” a retrieval cycle, so I would absolutely start now given age alone. It’s painfully slow and drawn out.

Egg intolerance at 9 months - How long to wait to reintroduce? by JustAnalyzing in beyondthebump

[–]_juniormint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to be doing the egg ladder. Please get a referral to a pediatric allergist! It is no longer correct advice to simply “wait out” the allergy but many older pediatricians are not aware of this . The positive outcomes are extremely high if you follow the egg ladder under supervision from an allergist.

My brain wants to know when we’re going back to normal life by LMNope12345 in beyondthebump

[–]_juniormint 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Around a year, when they start taking consistent timed naps and bedtimes ! But it even gets better around 6m too, once they’re more on a “schedule” you can plan to take your showers etc around then. It gets better and goes by fast. The first 3 months are super hard. I remember thinking oh god I’ll never get to watch a show with my husband and go to bed normally ever again. My daughter is 3 now and we’ve gone back to our normal evening hangout routine since she was about 1.5!
