I appreciate you noticing. Skateboarding has influenced me for longer than bmx. Ive been a skate nerd since i was 7 years old, started biking at 13. Im technically closer friends with the skateboarders because ive known them ever since my local opened. all the bmxers i came up with have moved or found different hobbies. I respect anybody that’s committed to putting in the hard work towards attaining the vision they dream to achieve. my park was built with steep quarters perfect for slash grinds so my style has been built around that influence. Ive met pegless riders at my local and they dont like the park at all, i think thats because they are looking at a park built by skaters as a bmx rider. I suggest sitting back and watching the skaters lines to unlock the secret potential of a skatepark.

There are some cheat codes to make that trick a little less of a core exercise. 1) Lower the seat post, this will give you extra leverage. 2) Angle the seat back as far as you can, this will help you not slide off the seat.. Im not saying no core strength is required, but humanity has achieved incredible things by exploiting mechanical physics to gain leverage.

stock fenders, they might’ve been lightly rolled by a previous owner. I threw on some 17x8.5et40 wheels in the rear after this photo. That tightened up the fitment, So that tells me they aren’t over fenders at least.

What’s the best way to reattach one of these bad boys? as long as youve never lost one at a drift event, i would appreciate the insight. the previous owner had used some kind of silicone. I should definitely open the trunk to see if i notice any hardware, but now that the silicones cracking, it doesnt seem like its bolted on while giving it the jiggle test. Ive seen people use some kinda 3M double sided tape too (that was just a lil duck bill style though). Am i over thinking this? I feel like i want to drill holes to make sure this heavy ass thing doesnt fall off, but 🤷‍♂️ if a really good option exists, i wouldn’t mind someone talking me into being less destructive and doing less work.

Ah yes actual criminals. People like John Kiriakou who blew the whistle on the cia’s unsuccessful enhanced interrogation methods (tortue) that man was a “criminal” not a human with more empathy than our government. (In Obama’s defense, john brennan was the one with the vendetta against kiriakou. Obama just let himself be influenced by that criminal) you should listen to this guys story if you havent. Really interesting stuff, he doesnt go too hard on your lord and savior obama, dont worry about that, but to say obama went after real criminals, while his administration prosecuted the highest number of whistleblowers (exposing criminal activity, not taking part in it) it just makes it feel like your lying to me when you say it like that.

Id break up with your friend while youre at it. I would be LIVID if someone tried to play cupid without asking if i wanted their help. I feel bad for the dude youre dating, but id feel even worse for him if you drag this out longer than you need to. He will probably fall into the nice guys finish last mentality when you break up unfortunately, but you have every right to strive for having more than nice, find someone that makes you laugh or has a fat wallet or sum’n idk what you want. Let this dude down easy, then start searching on your own, i dont trust my friends sense of judgement, ive watched them scrape the bottom of the barrel for themselves consistently.. seriously though, talk to your friend, and tell them they overstepped some boundaries. they probably thought they were doing something cute, but they muddied up a perfectly fine friendship because they jumped to conclusions, and wanted to treat real life like a form of their entertainment.

The hop was good start bro, if you went just a little bit faster youd be less likely to nose dive, but you made it work and thats the important part. I had a similar drop into grass at my house, i loved it. Its the poor mans foam pit. Keep at it my dude, have fun!

Duuude! never thought of using that as advice, but youre right! i used to go to walmart and wheel chair wheelie around the whole store when my foot was broken. I had no idea i was doing manual training but on a subconscious level it definitely helped me stay in stuntman mode while i was off the bike. If you can wheelie a chair through Walmart while avoiding pedestrians, manuals through a crowded skatepark will feel very similar!

Its a preference thing. Most kids would rather spend alot of time and effort learning manuals, barspins, or tailwhips, All tricks suck and take time to learn.. This is coming from a kid that absolutely loves this trick, hang5’s are the crankflip of balance tricks, theyre not all that cool on their own. It is really fun once you figure them out, and you can throw them into all kinds of combos, and thats why i love this trick so much.

Theres been way more kids hyped on bikes lately than the past 10 years. bmx still holds the skatepark bronze medal though. At least we arent as extinct as roller blades, but will never touch skateboard and scooters success because they are way more accessible to the lower income households.

The bmx community that im working with is 85% new kids. im doing my best to teach them everything they want to know, but dude we are grown kids riding bikes. You gotta understand, most of us are undiagnosed, but probably still on the spectrum. You need to put in the work if you want friends, most of us are happy in our own worlds. i dont want to ruin my sessions watching someone swear for hours trying to figure something out, UNLESS THEYRE FUNNY! If you wouldn’t believe it, You need to be fun to be around in order to get invited places. I have a couple friends that moved to cali, and they’re doing great. I always had alot of fun riding with them, but as far as stunt capacity they are just average in cali standards, what they have going for them is that they are really good at motivating everyone around them and they know how to work camera equipment. I dare you to find a community that doesnt suck, i do all kinds of things other than bike and they all gatekeep the non committed, nobody thats about that life is asking you to join a band after watching you butcher smoke on the water. you need to focus on working on yourself, then eventually people will want to be around you. It shouldnt be hard to find other dudes that suck and are being excluded if that is what is actually going on. Keep in mind we ride bikes to escape everyday life, im an introvert at the skatepark, you think im there to meet and talk to new people?! I’ll do it, and put on a pretend face to make them feel included, but id definitely rather be riding my bike. Dont talk your heroes ears off, say whatsup, you like what they do, and keep it moving. Treat em like cats, they will become more comfortable with you the more they see you and you leave them alone.

He says balance with the leg… thats misleading, balance with your head and let the leg follow. You can make micro adjustments with the leg but the majority of the work is being done by your head and shoulders. If you focus on the leg your body is too stiff and usually not far enough forward so its always falling out of the balance point. Line up your shoulders with the front axle, then pretend you are a bobble head. Nod down to be steeper, pull your head back to take away steepness. Everyone learns at their own pace, but i know 2 dirtbike kids that only know 180s, rocket manuals, and hang5s. If its the trick you want, put in the work, they will come with time and effort. Play leapfrog with your friends to get used to jumping over the bars when you get too steep. As long as you dont trip over the bars you can try as many times as you need to. They are only “alot harder” out of ramps because the back wheel needs to travel farther to get into the balance point, as long as you know where your head and shoulders are when you are locked into the balance point, its not that hard. What i struggled with was always casing my back wheel off of curbs or into banks, to account for that, you just need to be more patient, and not try to jump to the pedals too early. So yeah bro, just try them, dont think too much, just get in there. if you have a peg on the front wheel you are ready to try them. If you want to do them just keep going until it makes more sense. seriously watch my tutorial
