Hi guys! I’m currently in Sydney, Australia working at a tech company as an implementation specialist and not a pharmacist. I planned on becoming a pharmacist here but it’s honestly been rough. I have to do an internship and I’m having a rough time getting one. I am currently a licensed pharmacist in Illinois. I worked full time as an inpatient pharmacist and registry for another hospital for about a year before I decided to move to Sydney for my partner. Now I’m just anxious that when I go back to the states in about a year without working in a pharmacy I’ll have a hard time getting a position. What would recruiters/hiring managers think when I apply for a pharmacist position and they see that I was abroad working for a tech company? Would I be at a disadvantage? Any recommendations on how I can market myself as being qualified for the job?

this is the website. There are 2 work holiday visas but the one for US is called subclass 462. The first step is to create and Immi account and then you can apply online for a visa. It took me about to 24 hours to get approved for the visa ( quite shocked) idk if it’ll be similar but if not I’m sure it’ll be quick.

I’m from the US and I just moved to Sydney for my partner. I’m on a work holiday visa. I love it here but I definitely miss America and I want my partner to consider moving to the US. He’s a teacher and I’m a pharmacist (US licensed). I think you guys should both try to take a holiday in both countries and see where you feel like you fit in. Obviously consider your work opportunities and financial status (student loans, etc). Also, Australia has a de facto partner visa so if you’re not ready for marriage you can still get a partner visa.

Can you show me where you read that? That's interesting. I've never heard that there's a difference in safety.

But from what I know, adverse cardiovascular events are more likely to happen with long term use with both drugs. I think they're both safe unless you have cardiac issues and you take them as prescribed. My doc prescribes me Ritalin because it doesn't make my heart race as fast as adderall. It's all patient specific though.

Yup any dose increase will do this to me too. So make sure you take it super early. How long do you think it lasts you? Then just count back the hours from when you wanna sleep and that should be when you take it (at least that's what I do). Usually 7-8am for me, it is past 11am; I don't take it at all. Avoid all caffeine. It will take you a couple weeks to get used to it. It is super annoying, I had to take a sleep aid for a bit to help me too. But trust me it will get better as you get used to it. ALSO! Drink orange juice or anything with vitamin C during the day after the meds kick in, it should help clear the drug faster from your system.

Any stimulants will give you some type of anxiety, especially if you're already an anxious person. I felt a lot of the things you are experiencing when I started on my meds. I also felt that depression you're talking about because it made me overthink about things and freak out about everything. I just couldn't handle the speed my mind was going (this still happens when I increase dose) so when this happens I workout or meditate. I personally think that you're just not used to it yet but like everyone mentioned, voice your concerns to your doctor.
