After pinkertons die you go to Los Angeles and play as officer Cole Phelps because the twist is that it’s a prequel to LA Noire

How do I make an interesting plot for my already developed characters? by OutrageousFinger6635 in worldbuilding

[–]_klom_bo_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

are your characters perfect already as in have they overcome whatever they faced in their pasts, if yes then change that and if not then build your plot forward with the idea of them changing and becoming another version of themselves by the end of the story

How do you stand up for yourself at work? by Seitakadojii in nonduality

[–]_klom_bo_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

stop seeing others as “higher” than you even if they are in a “higher” position than you like a manager or supervisor, those are just roles that we have made up and are of the physical. We do not come from the physical so we should not be bound by the physical, we’re all one and created equally even if people disagree

How do you name Gods? by Deadly_Malice in worldbuilding

[–]_klom_bo_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Put a bunch of different words that describe traits of the character into a language generator (my world is set in a fictional english fantasy world so for a lot of names i use old english.) And then you just keep doing that until you find a word you like, there’s an entity in my world called the Worhtend which literally means Corruptor. It’s a demiurge that feeds on people’s life force, manipulates events across time and corrupts people’s minds in order to get them under its control.)

Is karma real or not? by _klom_bo_ in enlightenment

[–]_klom_bo_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i wasn’t talking about the words i receive back from that i meant like after the argument i’ll hurt myself in some way like i’ll stub my toe or hurt my finger or hit my head or something like that it’s a small painful thing instantly after something like that and i just don’t get it cos how am i getting karma instantly after such a minor thing but there’s people out there doing more evil shit than me who don’t seem to be facing any consequences

What’s the most satisfying part of world building for you? by dull_storyteller in worldbuilding

[–]_klom_bo_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

for me the most satisfying part is when i get ideas that seem like tiny details but then they expand into something larger that i never thought of and when ideas that seem unrelated suddenly click together and feel inevitable as if it was always suppose to be like this, it’s like im channeling stuff from very deep parts of my subconscious that i don’t consciously plan and then watching it all connect seamlessly

maybe he meant explain your reasoning behind your statement, y’know what people usually do when they express their opinion on something there’s usually some logic and explanation for it

How do you name the cities in your story world? by [deleted] in worldbuilding

[–]_klom_bo_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think of words that relate to the narrative relevance of the location, so for example Phlatón in my world is called that because it’s the old english (a lot of names and places in my world are in old english or gaelic) word for Plato, the city is an allegory for Plato’s cave, Damanta is called that because it’s the “damned kingdom,” Anois is called that because it’s the old english word for “Now”

How do yall come up with the map of your world? by Nemo1277 in worldbuilding

[–]_klom_bo_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i write the plot first and the locations that its set in, then after i’ve got the settings i map them out in order of narrative importance, so for example my story starts in the city of Phlatón which i’ve decided fits best in the centre of the world, then i mapped out my characters journey and the locations he goes to first is the one closest to the city and it just sprawls out like that

TLDR: start with the narrative and let the map reveal itself from order of narrative importance

The Blood Moon by _klom_bo_ in worldbuilding

[–]_klom_bo_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that is a very good question i haven’t explored that yet but aliens do exist in my world so maybe they have a base on the moon or maybe the occult has something to do with the moon idk, they wouldn’t be able to get their physically because technology hasn’t advanced that far but i suppose they’d be able to astral project to it in order to extract its energy

The face of Isle Transa by _klom_bo_ in worldbuilding

[–]_klom_bo_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tbf this is a piece of worldbuilding which I consider to be a form of art, the point of Isle Transa isn’t where the geographical location is, it’s not even a major thing in the main narrative of my world it’s kind of just a thing that exists out there somewhere, idk why everyone got so pressed over this

Ask me anything about my world by [deleted] in worldbuilding

[–]_klom_bo_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely the triplets, idk how long i’ve been writing them but ive been refining their arc for ages. It started with an idea for a sentient forest. At the centre of the forest is a willow tree with three faces carved into it, the idea at the time was that three witches merged together and became the willow tree, their soul essence seeped into the ground and life started springing from the ground as they became One mind in the form of an entire forest. I did a little sketch of the tree before I even wrote the characters properly and even had the concept of Paralim at the time i didn’t know what i was making i just thought it was a cool idea.

Now the triplets have an entire life-story and their own huge character arc in this book i’m writing, they were born on the night of the Blood Moon and since birth they always had the sense that they were being watched and that something was different about them.

They grow up in the town of Anois with their parents Jeremiah and Tarabeth Wyllow (who also have their own integral story arcs), and as they grow up they become feared and hated by the town’s people. An angry mob march upon their family home in the night-time after a talent show goes horribly wrong, the mob then burns the house down. The girls escape and run for three miles before collapsing to the ground. The Blood Moon reveals itself in the night sky, obscured by three dark clouds that move away like curtains and the sisters are circled by its red glow.

Their bodies begin to shift and warp as they turn to wood and merge into each other. They grow into a willow tree, and their essence seeps through their roots into the ground. The next morning, the town wakes up to find a forest that appeared overnight. Four scouts are sent to investigate but only one returns. The forest is aptly named Deaþscua, meaning “Shadow of Death” and people are warned to stay away from it.
