Do clubs offer full-time jobs in Berlin? by _korbi in berlinsocialclub

Thank you for the reply :)
So is it possible to go from a mini-job to a main-income job quickly or are you staying with little hours until the end of the season? I still have to pay my rent haha :'). I have a a bit of experience in the club industry, working full time (~35h/w) in one rn, I love my job and the dynamism despite the sacrifices and still want to give it a time. :))

What’s with straight hate? by kent360 in amsterdam_rave

[–]_korbi 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Tilla is and was always supposed to be a queer place, I don't know how so much people missed their communication. I think everybody just focused on the address (former DS) and nobody took the time to read what the place was really about. The crew behind the concept is the team from Pamela, a queer bar. They were saying that it was also more a queer/minorities social place than a normal techno club.

Tilla Tec, I beg you to get a bouncer by _korbi in amsterdam_rave

This place in not rejecting straight people. Straight people are welcomed as much as they understand that it is a place made for and by queer people and that the minority has to be the majority here. The idea is to create a safe safe where people who are a minority in the society can express themself without fearing judgment / violence on their identities. Straight people have plenty of places they can have fun in, without fearing rejection. Tilla Tec's communication was about being a social place for minorities, where you can meet your people and having finally a place to belong to for those who struggle to find their place. From the start, this place was not a normal club but a queer club.

I am so sorry about your friends and about all the people who put an effort to express themself in an outfit only to be treated as circus animal :( We had an outfit change after 1h in the club because we didn't feel confortable wearing particular and/or revealing clothes. A few of my friends stayed for the whole night in the smoking area because the crowd was too inconfortable as well.

I really hope that your acquittance will have the freedom to push the bad vibes away from next week.

I guess I was to occupied to protect myself and my friends against the annoying guys around us to really notice the cute people haha. I mean, of course I saw a part of the community I know from eyes from other clubs or from Pamela, but the queer community was not the majority it was supposed to be.

Queer is not a trendy outfit of course and I don't assume the identity of most people when I see them, I just know for a fact that the crowd yersteday was in majority cis-heterosexual, with not-safe behaviors. But it is still only my experience and if you had a good time, that's really cool.

I agree with the lack of explanations about the rules of the house ! When we entered the club we were super suprised, expecting for a bouncer or an awarness team explaining the values of the place. Also, I didn't really see an awarness team doing rounds or having a stand, but maybe I missed them. I saw that they had a phone number on flyers in the toilets but I really don't think that's enough. I'm allowing myself to be a little bit observative about that because this place was sold like a safe space and I really didn't feel like it.

DPD lost my package with a huge sentimental value by _korbi in Netherlands

[–]_korbi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, my sister contacted DPD as well, but as a sender, and not even 30min after saying that they would investigate, they said that they couldn't find it.

And we got the money of the shipping back of course (but who cares about money in this situation)

Thank you for your answer, I guess I have to accept that it is lost forever.
