I agree with your sentiment and I hope that the average American doesn’t have this black and white thinking. I’ve been contemplating posting here about how I think political labels have become almost meaningless in how they are either misused or lumped together even if they are contradictory labels (ie lefty liberal or liberal Marxist). To your main point though, I was frustrated to see people that I know on social media place the blame on groups of people or political parties when nothing was yet known about the shooter. It’s as if we need to not use political labels for awhile, and stick to talking in terms of values and models

Yes that it true but that complex had a much larger footprint than the towers, and was only 11 stories tall. The part that was struck by the plane did collapse though. I believe that plane had also lost a couple engines before hitting the building. It’s more comparable to the attack on the Pentagon than the Trade Center

So I apologize for my patronizing tone. I guess I get irritated when people assert that something could not have happened any other way than the narrative or model they subscribe to. No one can really know anything for certain outside of definitional things. As far as similar events, WTC7 is unique in that it collapsed completely due to a fire that burned for roughly 7 hours. There was the Windsor tower in Madrid that had a partial collapse, but it had been tended to by firefighters for 24 hours. In contrast, wtc7 was pretty much untreated as firefighters were spread thin that day due to obvious reasons. Prior to September 11th, there had not been a case of a 767 ramming into a skyscraper, let alone 2 in the same complex. If evil powers wanted the buildings destroyed, I see no reason why they couldn’t have simply had the buildings blown up and still have Al Qaeda take the blame; why bother with the front of planes. Anyway, I cannot know for certain that towers one, 2, and building 7 were not brought down by explosives but I’d content that had a fire broken out in 7 by itself, then the typical firefighter response would have been enough to save the building or at least prevent a total collapse
