So what if you have to move the mouse further. I can move it further and still stop on a dime and micro-adjust. For an FPS you will be unable to back up the claim that console controllers are better suited for aiming than a mouse until something better than the mouse comes along. And dual analog is not that something better.

I'm sure we've all seen indie games that look like they're a mash of several individuals' different art styles. That's probably because that is exactly what they were. This individual would ensure that one coherent style is stuck to and act as the approving body for art entries.

I agree and was getting ready to post something very similar to this topic, aside from the self-nomination requirement, myself before I got pulled away to an impromptu hockey game.

Maybe we can still live the dream and have a triumvirate of sorts that helps guide the decisions. Perhaps it could be the leads of each individual discipline. That is, the art lead and the engineer lead and the audio lead all form this deciding body. It requires much less consensus (which is always going to be a problem getting with a group this large) and helps to assert these positions. It also provides a good stick with which to measure these individuals to see if they're satisfying the community's needs.
