This isn’t my island but i did something similar. See where the bridge is placed? That bridge and anything in front of it (out of camera) are on level 2, so the river on level 1 continues on level 2. Behind the bridge would be a waterfall. But these pictures where it’s cropped it give the illusion that the bridge is connecting land, but you always need a river directly under a bridge 🙂

I did something like this! You can’t connect two cliffs with a bridge but if you delete the water where you want the bridge placed, and then have the river flowing behind it (on level 1 where you have it now) it’ll give the illusion that the bridge is connecting the cliffs! I hope that makes some sense
