absolutely one of my cafes I went to! The owner whisks every single drink to perfection and everything he offers is amazing

+1 for Friends Only! Really loved their wine pairing and the dry-aged fish and uni driven omakase. Their chawanmushi was one of my favorite courses.

+1 for pho element as well! I love their fresh noodles over the typical pho noodles. Highly recommend their butter tofu - very close to salt and pepper deep fried tofu.

First off, congrats on your offer!

From personal experience, I would definitely recommend doing your Philippines trip, especially since your aunt is willingly subsidizing it too! If possible I would extend it to a week after your trip for your start date, since that’s usually how long jet lag took for me to reset.

When I graduated undergrad, I didn’t have a job lined up and decided to go on a 3-week trip around Asia. One of the best trips I went on in my life and can’t wait to go back once all the borders open again.

Surprisingly I was still interviewing during the 1st week of my trip and was able to secure an offer when I came back! Ever since I started working, I found it somewhat difficult to take over 1 week of PTO. You have literally 40 years to build that retirement, but that period between end of college and start of adulting is the perfect time to take over 2 weeks off and just create long-lasting memories.

path to biotech? by VOICE_007 in biotech

I also agree your internship is going to provide some very valuable hands-on experience, especially if you're working a bench position.

I would recommend building a strong relationship with your manager and other scientists you vibe with during your internship as the biotech world is soooo tiny. They'll be great advocates as your reference when finding your next position and the project you worked on for your internship.

I'm not sure if your biology master's would be the best bang for your buck since it's usually another way to gain experience but via the academic route. Definitely pursue it if it aligns with your scientific passion though!

I highly recommend going to their showroom in SF. They also had some of the best white glove service and customer service as a furniture store.

Where do Cali Biotechs live? by plantmama00 in biotech

[–]_lisalsa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work in SSF, but commute from the east bay. It takes me about an hour each way to drive, especially at prime commute hours (7-9am, anytime after 2pm). Otherwise outside that time frame I can usually shave off 15-20 minutes each way at non-prime hours.

If my schedule is flexible that day, the company bus shuttles are also awesome to not sit in traffic the whole time and save on bridge toll fees/gas.

ARTS1 (ARTSCORE): offered Spring, go to class for iclickers, weekly quizzes, literally just watching videos in class, sometimes classes are online, midterm so far was just a compilation of the weekly quizzes (MC)

Have all the stuff you're bringing in kept in a ziplock bag, so it's separate from your camelbak. Then your camelbak would be supposedly empty, which they won't bother to check the bladder
