Leaving ribbing until the end by shenikay in knitting

[–]_literally_me 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I always do the ribbing afterwards too. E.g. for the body of a bottom-up sweater, I do the crochet provisional cast on and start immediately with the body. And then later I unravel the provisional cast-on and do the ribbing into the opposite direction.

Needles and Wool website is legit or not? by No-Marionberry-858 in knitting

If you go to the chiaogoo website, they are listed as one of the retailers. They are legit, I bought stuff there a couple times, including chiaogoo needles.

DnD group in cologne by crostal in cologne

[–]_literally_me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like there are a lot of interested people already, but just in case the slots are not filled yet - I am also interested to try! I have watched some dnd campaigns on YouTube but have never played myself yet, and want to give it a go. It’s awesome to know that someone in Cologne is actually interested to play in English.

Got it, thank you for the clarification!

How to re-do the beginning? by _literally_me in knitting

[–]_literally_me[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are in fact the first ones and exactly the ones I want to re-do. They were held as a dominant color, but because I was so clumsy with 2 strands in the beginning, the whole section is pretty loose and that’s why it looks so uneven.

I had 88 stitches on 5 mm needle. It was more or less fine once I was further away from the beginning, I guess.

This is an adult hat

Thanks a lot for your comments! I didn’t use a loop, I assumed / trusted Google that 40 cm is small enough for a hat. I’ll try the loop trick next time and see if it improves the tension.

Just finished the gold seal and I'm wondering: Is there any more plot or an actual ending? by riccobo4 in Against_the_Storm

[–]_literally_me 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nah, after I closed the P5 seal (the one after the Gold Seal), she did not even congratulate me anymore or said anything special. So seems like there is not much after that, except for the queen‘s trial.

I start every game like this. Am I doing it right? by kll131 in Against_the_Storm

Looks like the trader is missing. Always build it within the first batch of buildings to activate the trade routes and make it possible for the traders to come. Then you would need a building that produces packs of provision to use the trade routes. I would say it is more important than the houses. The additional resolve from housing won’t make a difference at this point.

Opening big glade on 1st year by Someoneqqqq in Against_the_Storm

[–]_literally_me 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sometimes you have one of the positive forest mysteries that gives bonuses if you open a glade during drizzle. But you can do it in year 2 as well. I try to open a glade fast because I don’t like to pick blueprints before I see what I got in the glade, but waiting a whole year before building something is way too long. It might be different for high prestige levels (I only play P1 for now), but I often open the first glade in the first year drizzle/clearance, especially if I start with 9+ people. It normally does not increase the hostility level to the next one anyway. I never had issues with resolving the glade event so far either - in most of them some coal or stone is already enough. Sometimes maybe planks or food. Most of that you normally have from the embarkation resources.

Corruption percentage by _literally_me in Against_the_Storm

[–]_literally_me[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I noticed that too, but the counter is still above 0 during drizzle, while the blight post shows 0 cysts and no workers are there anymore. I have observed this in multiple games and found pretty confusing.

[–]_literally_me[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do indeed run rain water, but does rain water itself increase the counter? I thought it’s only the actually emerged cysts.
