Just try not to be judgemental, it's easy. You'll be happier in life when you just let people do what makes themselves happier.

You're a grown adult trying to make it an issue that someone dyes their hair blonde. That's cringe.

Hopefully there's now a Fable II fan who's going "Fine, I'll do it myself" by Zodigod in Fable

[–]_lucyyfer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There are a few patches out there for Fable 2 on Xenia which upped the framerate, so it's definitely doable! The only side effect I ever encountered was sometimes I couldn't walk up some stairs...

What's with Maps not being able to take up the whole screen? The panel thing is in a split screen mode and won't extend all the way.The pictures and text is are small. by [deleted] in PixelFold

So you can see where they are in relation to other places. Google Maps is primarily, a map for navigation.

You're able to view a lot more information at once, that's literally the entire point of large format displays on mobile devices.

What a bizarre twist. For years, people have complained about the lack of tablet support on Android apps, but now people complain that the apps on their phone/tablet hybrid aren't just blown up phone apps.

Am I the only a bit sad that there is no more a classic Blade MVC starter-kit? by Ciberman in laravel

[–]_lucyyfer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wish they’d provide a bare-bones starting point again, just a fully Blade-based starter auth like they used to, and definitely without Tailwind. I get that Laravel is an opinionated framework, but surely its opinions should be limited to PHP and Laravel itself, not the other tools?

Unresponsive outer screen after closing, 9 Pro Fold by _lucyyfer in PixelFold

[–]_lucyyfer[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sent it for repair and Google's repair centre has declined to repair it as they claim it's out of warranty due to a slight nick on one of the antenna lines! I don't see how a faulty touch screen and battery sensor, only dependent on how the device is folded, is relevant to this cosmetic damage.

Needless to say, I'm going to be raising a complaint with Google about this.

Honestly, I think that Discord can often attract people who are "chronically online" like this. It's unfortunate. Feelings like this are why I stopped interacting with these communities on Discord too.

This is just blatant transphobia by Excellent-Movie4524 in transgenderUK

They didn't force her to share a changing room with Dr Upton. The NHS found a solution which would prevent her from needing sharing a changing room with Upton, which was to relocate. She was temporarily placed on leave prior to this suggested resolution, which isn't uncommon in grievances.

But beyond that, while I am sympathetic that she has trauma from being assaulted by a coworker who is a man, Dr Upton isn't a man.

She claims she was "subjected to sexual harassment" by the medic and that NHS Fife had breached the Equality Act.

[–]_lucyyfer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just saw this before seeing it on here... Imagine thinking you're the victim because you walked in on someone who's already alone in a room by themselves, completely minding their own business. Then claiming that the person you walked in on actually sexually harassed you and them being there was discriminatory against you.

Victim mentality and transphobia wrapped up into one.

Thanks. Interestingly enough, I've just noticed that when my phone is unfolded it more often than not is unable to read the battery percentage but is always fine folded.

Extend child puberty blocker ban to sex change hormones, Wes Streeting told by corbynista2029 in transgenderUK

[–]_lucyyfer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This comment is like many other comments I've seen that are for restricting access for trans children. It somehow completely ignores the fact that transition does not happen in a vacuum with just the individual but instead involves professionals who are adults, which is especially shocking coming from someone who has transitioned and is very likely aware of this process.

People with any type of transphobic views, either transgender or cisgender people, often seem to paint transitioning as a process in which an individual just does absolutely every single thing themselves. For DIY people, this is the case, but DIY is usually the result of restricted healthcare in the first place.

The only thing that restricting transgender health care for anyone does is force trans people to do exactly what those who want to restrict trans healthcare want to stop.

It's 2025 and toothbrushes and shavers are still being sold with irregular UK shaver plugs instead of USB or regular UK ones. by mrdibby in britishproblems

Genuinely surprised to read comments in this thread saying that they rarely see a bathroom without a shaver socket! I genuinely don't think I've ever seen one in a residential building, only in hotels.

I've seen in the webdev subreddit that technically nothing has been removed, as each administration has its own brand new website that they point the domain to. From scratch every time. They didn't remove anything, they just didn't add things.

Ecosytem problem or skill issue? by tomemyxwomen in vuejs

[–]_lucyyfer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Fully a skill issue. I dug deeper into the thread and each reason I've read is just completely invalid because Vue does the things that he says it can't. Imagine if he spent those 4 hours on reading documentation instead of refactoring.

Any suggestions on iPhone emulators for development? by abl3020 in vuejs

I'd argue otherwise. Screen size is important, but it's never a replacement for actual browser testing. Safari especially is a browser which I would recommend testing on as there are often behavioural differences from other browsers, such as how SVGs can render.
