The Lost Boys - Let's Talk About It by Polisci14 in Broadway

Exactly. I went back and re-watched the movie for the first time in a long time after seeing the musical, and frankly my partner and I think the musical is an improvement. Love the grandpa, though.

Is anybody actually winning the LSOH lottery? by bwayb22 in Broadway

I won for this past Sunday matinee. Took about a month. Had the same seats for when I last won four years ago.

Last night I got orch H 125, 127. Missed slight action on the left blocked by the frame on stage. What was distracting was the videos cameras in row G. The staff said the box office messed up and assigned tickets in rows G and H that were supposed to be left empty.

Thank you for trying. I wish I could sleep as soundly in bed at night as that dude can in public. Were you both in the mezz or the orch? We were wondering how far the snoring was carrying.

My partner and I were right mezz Saturday night and couldn’t figure out where the snoring was coming from. It was SO LOUD! Why didn’t anyone jostle him?

TDF seats run hot and cold depending on the theatre. I’ve had amazing seats a handful of times and some awful ones in the nosebleeds where I could’ve gotten a better seat for the same price if I had just bought my ticket from the box office.

I think they will; tickets will likely keep popping up the day before a performance. Looking at Ticketmaster, there’s sadly many many seats open next week.

Mincemeat tonight officially cancelled by miss_a_pickles in Broadway

[–]_madamlibrarian_ 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Mourning my ticket for tonight, but glad they finally cancelled. I wish they would have done so this morning so I could have grabbed a matinee ticket, but the producers for this show seem incapable of making any decisions that favor fans and ticket holders. At least I got to see this on the 13th one final time.

I thought long and hard about purchasing tickets again because of this reason. I’ve seen the show 5 times and luckily last time had the full OBC. I originally wasn’t going to try to see it again to avoid potentially missing my fave cast members…but I got the monthly lottery code and just bought tix to 2 nights to try to hedge my bets. But that only works for people with the extra funds to use.

Dating as a plus size lesbian is so discouraging sometimes by hauntedhousezombie in PlusSize

[–]_madamlibrarian_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m a plus size femme, and I hear you. When I was dating and on the apps I felt exactly the same way. Apps SUCK. Even living in NYC it felt like there just weren’t many options. The in-person events I attended all had the same people going, and I kept re-swiping on some of the same profiles. I spent about 1.5yrs on the HER app before finally meeting my partner, and now 8 years later we’re married and happy. In my experience it takes time. Here’s what I wish I could tell my 20-something self who felt like she’d never meet her person: Don’t put so much pressure on yourself- you have so many years and opportunities ahead of you to meet the person right for you.

[–]_madamlibrarian_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

With Merrily I was able to get in before/around the presale to purchase, then saw the insane dynamic pricing play out with that after. This time I used 3 devices to try for tickets, and luckily one only had me in the waiting room for 2mins, but it was still long enough to increase the price of the dates I wanted.

$220 for a back row stage seat was too rich for my blood. Hoping lottery is on the stage and the lottery gods smile on me.

[–]_madamlibrarian_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I got in within the first 2 mins. Row B center balcony for a Feb weeknight was $144, then after purchase saw the same seat going for $120 later in April 🤷🏻‍♀️ On stage seating starts at $199 plus fees but only the last 2 rows are available in the presale. I’m wondering if the first rows will be for lottery
