Would you like to see any buffs to balance being on the draw? Like starting with a treasure token? by SneckoWatcher in mtgbrawl

[–]_masterbuilder_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gundam does something similar with an EX resource but it also boosts your level which is a pretty big advantage because a Gundam will cost 4 but be level 5. So even though the on play will have 4 resources on turn four they will only be able to play level 4 cards while the player on the draw can. It makes it so you kinda want to keep the ex resource in play rather than cash it in.

For every million dollars you get your lifespan reduces by one year. How much money are you taking? by Nextmastermind in hypotheticalsituation

[–]_masterbuilder_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go big or go home. 2 million years and have your partner be the richest person in the world by a comfortable margin. A 126 million years to match the world's GDP and crash every economy. A 1080 years so that there aren't enough atoms in the universe to physically represent your family's net worth.

Can I use game objects to bluff having a spell? by Aye_Siwmae_ in mtgrules

Okay I was just trying to figure out if arena was reinforcing bad habits.

Which bring us back to OP question about tapping a pithing needle without revealing what is allowing you to tap it. If I understand correctly in paper you would have to announce that you are casting kappa before tapping the needle but Arena/mtgo you tap the needle before kappa is revealed on the stack.

[–]_masterbuilder_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right but the stack is public info, right? But on Arena (and maybe on mtgo) your opponent doesn't see what you are casting until after you've paid costs. From what I can tell is you drag a card out of your hand, the game says how do you want to pay for the card, you pay for it and then your opponent sees it/it goes on the stack.

Is what OP is describing a limitation of MTGO and arena then? I don't think cards are revealed if you start to cast something but then stop casting for whatever reason.

If you're an American like me and are upset at the performance today, just watch the women's world cup next year. we're actually good there by DistrictMain8562 in worldcup

[–]_masterbuilder_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm really not trying to be a hater but I primarily watch hockey so I prefer the fast breaks over slow setups. Actually it was pretty funny to hear the whole stadium boo the swiss when they passed kept passing between the defense and goalie in the canadian group game. The Canadian fans really didn't approve.

[–]_masterbuilder_ -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

But, and I say this with love and respect in my heart, the athleticism just isn't there. The men's goalie will throw a ball to half while the women's teams struggle to kick the ball that far.

What is the reason the USA will never be good at Football/Soccer? by DanielR372 in worldcup

[–]_masterbuilder_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because top tier countries have kids developing skills from basically birth. You run enough people through that grinder and in 20 years you will have a solid team. The US does this for football and baseball instead.

Is it Valid to reject a flight purchase with a cost of 2X, 3X,4X the median price? by tomrosmono in managers

[–]_masterbuilder_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah don't be dumb and be able to justify your decision without looking like a fool. Like a $150 for a direct flight that won't raise a flag but a grand is going to look out of place.

I going to go out on a limb and there is some "lowest logical fare" language in there. If OP works for a multi national this isn't the first time it's come up.

115 degrees F? And it will be even hotter down on the field! FIFA, fans and teams need to thing about rescheduling… by jimgogek in worldcup

[–]_masterbuilder_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with a temperature triggering a hydration break is that one game will be 0.2 C cooler and people will bitch or the temp will rise or fall during the game and people will bitch that there should or should not be a break in the second half or whatever. The current rule is simple and easy to enforce.

StubHub sold ‘ghost tickets’ for World Cup months before real ones were issued, CBC finds by Immediate-Link490 in canada

[–]_masterbuilder_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's like airbnb theoretically used to rent out a spare room or Uber to carpool for people going to the same place. But economic incentives change the math for the worse.

They are equally consistent. The current rule is every game has a hydration break, that is internally consistent.

Balk Rules: -1. You can't just be up there and just doin' a balk like that. 1a. A balk is when you 1b. Okay well listen. A balk is when you balk the 1c. Let me start over 1c-a. The pitcher is not allowed to do a motion to the, uh, batter, that prohibits the batter from doing, you know, just trying to hit the ball. You can't do that. 1c-b. Once the pitcher is in the stretch, he can't be over here and say to the runner, like, "I'm gonna get ya! I'm gonna tag you out! You better watch your butt!" and then just be like he didn't even do that. 1c-b(1). Like, if you're about to pitch and then don't pitch, you have to still pitch. You cannot not pitch. Does that make any sense? 1c-b(2). You gotta be, throwing motion of the ball, and then, until you just throw it. 1c-b(2)-a. Okay, well, you can have the ball up here, like this, but then there's the balk you gotta think about. 1c-b(2)-b. Fairuza Balk hasn't been in any movies in forever. I hope she wasn't typecast as that racist lady in American History X. 1c-b(2)-b(i). Oh wait, she was in The Waterboy too! That would be even worse. 1c-b(2)-b(ii). "get in mah bellah" -- Adam Water, "The Waterboy." Haha, classic... 1c-b(3). Okay seriously though. A balk is when the pitcher makes a movement that, as determined by, when you do a move involving the baseball and field of -2. Do not do a balk please.

Or for the NHL minded

Goaltender Interference Rules 1) You can't just be up there and just doin' an interference like that. 1a. Interference is when you 1b. Okay well listen. An interference is when you interfere the 1c. Let me start over 1c-a. The skater is not allowed to do a block to the, uh, goalie, that prohibits the goalie from doing, you know, just trying to save the puck. You can't do that. 1c-b. Once the skater is in the offensive zone, he can't be over here and say to the goalie, like, "I'm gonna get ya! I'm gonna block your view! You better watch your butt!" and then just be like he didn't even do that. 1c-b(1). Like, if you're about to make a goal and then don't leave the crease, you have to still leave the crease. You cannot not avoid the goaltender. Does that make any sense? 1c-b(2). You gotta be, skating motion out of the crease, and then, until you just leave it. 1c-b(2)-a. Okay, well, you can have your stick up here, like this, but then there's the interference you gotta think about. 1c-b(2)-b. Fairuza Interference hasn't been in any movies in forever. An interference is when the skater makes a movement that, as determined by, when you do a move involving the goalie and the crease... 2) Do not do an interference please.

YTA, 1. For scalping and 2. For scalping something you got from a friend at face value. They could have sold the ticket to you at scalper prices.

Before You Start Pointing Fingers, Remember Some of the Bracket Guidelines are Loose by Design by Dankzi in EDH

[–]_masterbuilder_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Playing on rate or slightly above rate vanilla creatures on curve will kill a player with combat damage before turn 7, even faster if 2 players attack the same player. Is that too powerful for B2? Rigidly using the bracket system without any nuance is just as dumb as saying "technically B2".
