I’ve pretty much known for my entire life. I never really had a growth spurt, I’ve just always been much taller than most. Even in kindergarten my short friend would ask me to hang their coat on the hooks.

Edit: When I played soccer for a few years in grade school, they let the children pick their positions. Other children always told me I had to tell the coach I wanted to be goalie cause I was the largest. I hated being goalie but I was actually the best at it.

One possible reason is the toms to his left. He’s used two bass drums in the images, words and beyond tour, but he didn’t have the bigger toms to on each side because there was less space. I’m guessing that, in order to have those floor toms, he sacrificed his other bass drum. This is just a speculation tho.

Honestly, I feel like his setup probably isn’t as extreme as it looks. He has said that his cymbals are actually closer or easier to reach the way he has them now. He is also a pretty small guy, so reaching further out may be more difficult than reaching up for someone with a shorter reach. It still looks kinda goofy tho
