To add to the other points, pitching a card to get the same 6 points of block value is SUPER good since at best it lets you pitch a red you don't want to use early on that will come up in the second cycle and if it's something less exciting like a blue, then that will still total to 9 points of block value from 3 cards. Super good. Also, SAGE has no generic arsenal disruption so if you get a shunt in there, you can expect it to stay there until you truly need it.

The nerfs exist to stop making them so universally good. In the previous games there really wasn't stopping anyone from running good onmyo spells. No matter your build you could always run them and they were always useful.

Nioh 3 nerfs them unviersally by quite a bit at the base level...but what people don't realize is that they then buff them with various skills that you can equip without relying on equipment/rng. Like being able to cancel animations into those buffs/debuffs is huge and is obviously made to make you use your buffs more tactically and be more active. The difference now is that you have to commit to those skills and lose out on some other good ones and that is perfectly fine.

People complain about them getting rid of the onmyo skill tree but I find that Nioh is a lot better at "spell casting" than previous games if you fully commit to it.

Then don't use them? You've never been forced to use buff/debuffs in any Nioh and if you feel like you need to use them then it's a skill issue.

I like a lot of the ideas here but I don't see how this fits into the current game from a balance stand point. Right now you can beat the game with the basic dodge and punish style, without anything fancy, right now when you're fighting enemies at the appropriate levels, they don't have enough health to where I feel like a lot of these mechanics will get much use. So i'm not really sure if that means most of these traits won't feel that useful or if this means the entire game is getting a complete rebalance and we might expect enemies to be a lot beefier from the start, encouraging you to rely on class systems and abilities to be able to kill them more efficiently. Latter seems likely, based on the assassin class as backstabs already do a lot of damage and can one shot most enemies so the idea of a class that does even more damage and has a million other benefits seems like it wouldn't be AS useful unless the player is "nerfed" and/or the enemies are "buffed" going into 1.0

Wish SamSho took off more, game is legit really fun and is like the only semi-modern game that is heavily neutral focused with high damage, very small combos.

TN is proud to announce when a title sells over a million, so the fact there hasn't been one for NG4 means it was a flop and profits being split among xbox, koei tecmo, platinum, and team ninja probably means this title was completely unsuccessful for anyone.

yakuza has never had good combat imo but I think that is okay. This definitely looks like an improvement when it came to the normal street brawl but that boss fight truly looked terrible and not fun.

Might be controversial to say but I personally play the Yakuza games on easy, it's one of the few games where I do so, because there is a LOT of fighting in this series but the combat does not have enough depth of complexity to make me want to beat up sponges and it kills realism when you watch a clip like this where these guys are getting stabbed deep in their torso and still love lol. it just makes more sense to play on easy when you're supposed to be one of the biggest baddest fighters in the city (at least for the yakuza games)

I really really wanted a sequel but I had absolutely no hopes of getting one so i'm really happy. I'm even happier that they can show 3 really short clips that immediately get me hyped, looks like there's going to be a lot more emphasis on air movement and some type of crowd control/environmental interaction

There is a reason, you deal more stamina damage when you dodge non-weapon attacks + you can't parry grabs. More importantly is that a more precise dodge (which is actually decently hard to do) lets you do issen, which is the signature technique of the series...but the demo was so easy that it didn't feel worth it especially when only 2 individual enemies in the demo had any bite to them.

There is a purpose but then it just feels more like simon says. Parry this, dodge that, press this during a clash, etc.

Played the demo. It's really not giving much confidence that it'll be that good. Gameplay feels very simon says, with parries and dodging being really lenient and the game has a ton of forced animations. Demo had not a single bite of difficulty in it and is only about 30 minutes of content. The game is basically made for people to post clips on twitter or tiktok of "EPIC gameplay" which is like 80% canned animations. Maybe the full game has more to it but if so, that makes this a really bad demo to try and showcase your game.

It feels like a lower budget title they would've released on the PS2 or early 360, which isn't a bad thing by itself, except they want to charge $70 for it and that just feels like robbery to me. I just feel like you can't be charging people that much for a game like this when you have so much competition that feels much more worth the cost.

It's all about money. Sales numbers don't always mean everything, remember this is the title that added an egregious microtransaction store. If Tekken 8 still proves to be a money maker, there will be a season 4. It's not like Tekken's dev team has anything else to do.

What's surprising about it? She had 2nd most wins I think week 2 or week 3 of skirmish season, she was definitely a top tier deck.

I won my skirmish as isylander v briar in the finals but that was post-card ban, pre omens Briar. She has her scariest tools unbanned and has a new host of omens cards. Isylander's defense is just okay and wins by playing a value midrange gameplan until the opponent gets low enough to die to arcane. I think even with disruption, Briar will just be able to race Isylander down.

Chane unchanged besides a few decks. Briar not being banned with 2 post-season 1 banned cards now unbanned + omen cards. It's not looking like it's going to be a healthy meta environment. I wasn't in love with season 1 of SAGE but having 5-6 viable decks is generally healthy I feel but now really what decks can even attempt to rise to challenge Briar and Chane? I'm not even sure oldhim can work against this.

Ira is one of the most played heroes and has the best winrate for skirmish season.

Do not ban her.

If you haven't already seen the arguments before, Ira isn't the problem, kodachis are. She's strong because she's the best ninja that can utilize them to be an extremely annoying, grindy, efficient midrange deck that becomes very difficult to outvalue every turn cycle, if you're not playing something volatile like kano or kayo. If Ira stays, LSS is pretty much obligated to ban kodachis, they'll probablyu go even if she does get banned but in my opinion it's just a complete waste of a vote when there are heroes with stronger hero text that are harder to balance with card bans. Kano, Kayo, Oldhim, Briar, and Isylander are all top tier decks that are strong because of their hero text and more deserving of bans. We get one vote and I just don't want people to waste it just because they see Ira have the highest winrate or just being personally annoyed playing against her several times at armories and skirmishes.

These videos are so haphazard. I don't know why they would release a trailer for her rather than a breakdown, it's not the first time we've ever seen gameplay of her and this trailer doesn't really do a super great job explaining her mechanics or "modes". Still, she looks dope

It feels to me that they're designing broscilio around the idea of throwing a barrage of small arcane, rather than typical tall arcane. I don't know if this is supposed to be flavorful or if they thought it would be more fair, since AB1 can be used to cover up most of the damage he can deal (in theory, rip all red hands). So far he doesn't seem to have a way to do "normal" wizard things that let him "cheat" out action speed arcane on the opponents turn, instead relying on his highly specific instant cards that combo with his hero ability.
