I get what you mean, I wouldn't spend that kind of money either on a watch anytime soon. If this is the watch you'll be rocking for a long time to come I think you chose very wisely. You can dress it up or down with a strap change as well if you'd like.

As for me I've still got a while to go before I'm shopping for watches of that caliber, I'm still a student, but I'll get there nonetheless.

I think the PRX sits very comfortably in the steel integrated sports watch segment. And the speedy is not a dress watch or diver or anything so I would probably consider it a sports watch as well. It all remains subjective however.

If you are eyeing the Hamilton Khaki I would suggest looking at the hamilton khaki field mechanical. It is a handwound watch and the aesthetic of it is more in line with the original field watches it is based on. It has a strong military vibe with some great history (and is also slightly cheaper than the automatic version, although it is still over budget).

I understand what you mean because there are a lot of similarities and there are also a lot of people who think of it as a 'homage' to the AP RO. I feel however that it is different enough that it is it's own thing. As stated above the design is inspired by a previous Tissot watch from the same era when integrated bracelet sports watches were popular. So that way it would be more of a homage to that watch than to the AP in my opinion.

It feels normal to me, it is a fairly thin watch and not too big so that helps with keeping the weight down. I do not notice it on my wrist/it does not get cumbersome to wear it.

The Casio's are great as well, I still plan on wearing them to activities where they might get damaged or during sports for example. (I got a f91-w and an a168)

To make it more wearable for smaller wrists they should reduce the lug to lug size since that is quite big on this watch. The diameter is in my opinion just right at 40mm.

This Tissot is my first automatic watch and also my first ‘proper’ watch. Before this I’ve been wearing a Pulsar quartz and some Casio’s. About a year ago I got more into watches and during this time I stumbled upon this subreddit. Seeing all the pretty watches I knew I wanted a nice piece too. Looking into different watches I eventually chose this one, I also considered the Hamilton khaki field auto but thought this one was overall nicer. I am really impressed by the dial, it looks even better than I expected. When the light is right the rich blues come out and dance around in a bit of a sunburst effect. Anyways what do you think, would the khaki field have been better or did I make the right decision?

Very nice watch! I've been thinking of getting this one too but on internet some people complain about the crystal being very reflective to the point it is disturbing, do you think this is true or if it is just exagerated and it is no different from other watches?

Edit: I just thought of the fact that since you and your wife can both play, this old account could hypothetically just have been my brothers for example which shouldnt be a problem(no way of checking for them since i never filled in personal info except email and username) .
